I just got back from the sharks-devils game! Couldn't get much more exciting than that was, 6-5. The sharks played ok, Devils just played a bit better when it boiled down to it.

I'm kinda surprised they fired him now, is a coaching change really going to help them at this point in the season?

It probably won't help us at this point, no, but under the assumption the team was playing like ass to get him canned, it's possible. I just find it hard to believe we can go from winning against the Sharks, then getting dominated by the Leafs (again), and there not be a reason behind the suckage. Against the Sharks, they wanted to prove they can still play. Against the Leafs, they wanted to get Therrien fired (not exactly my opinions, but rationalization).

He looked like he was given an ultimatum anyway. Any time they showed shots of him on the bench during the Leafs game once it started getting ridiculous, you could tell he knew he was done.

I'm not surprised the Pens fired Therrien. The Pens were no longer buying what he was selling. It's a bad sign when your coach changes your defensive systems multiple times during the year. I think he lost the team down towards the end there. Bylsma unfortunately is cut from the same cloth as Therrien. But we'll see if this can jumpstart the team. I personally think it's far too late, which kills me to say. But I like to pride myself on being an objective hockey fan even though I bleed Penguins black and gold. They will probably make a respectable push but in the end, fall short.

They didn't have to give up anyone to get another D-man, but not sure how much of a diff it will make. Wonder who is next.

If there were any justice in this world that would have been the case. They need to clean house from Sather on down. Only people to stay are Allaire and the trainers/strength/conditioning coaches...For what it's worth this team is always in fantastic shape and good at avoiding injuries. That's how bad it's become, that's the only thing I can hang my hat on.

Was at the Flyer beating yesterday...left when it was 5-0, I've never left a Rangers game before the final buzzer in my entire life. I think there's like 13 more home games and I don't want to go to a single one of them.

With him out of the line up for 2 games, when the habs made him rest a bit, Alex Kovalev does not plan on coming back with the habs, On the rumor stated by some website (ruefrontenac.com) Kovalev talked to a russian guy who told this to RDS.

He says that the Habs problem is not only his fault but mostly because the young player cannot behave themselved out of the ice, and that is only a small part of the problem

Kovalev add that he will not be surprised not to get the habs shirt on after Washington + pittsburgh games. But that is for sure, he does not want to play with habs next year.

Now my opinion, first all is just a rumor for now. But dumb players like Kovalev got the head of 3 great coach in Montreal that has success with other teams now. Julien in Boston, Vignault in Vancouver and Therrien in Pittsburgh (even tho he got fired).

All i hope is that he doesn't plan to get Carbonneau Fired, Carbonneau is still learning, but he is a good coach and he will get better.

People are just emo cuz of the century, but if kovalev is really out, personally it's a great news

It's rare to see a teams inner workings getting outed in public like this. But it doesn't bode well for Montreal fans. As long as it helps the Canucks beat them again I'm all for their partying ways.

this is why the Canadiens are a joke, imo. theyve always had this elitest attitude, and especially last year, they think they deserve the world. they pamper their players and make excuses when they lose. hell, even their page on NHL.com writes stuff to always give MTL the benefit of the doubt. they lost to washington in the shootout last night, after leading 3-2 with 3 minutes left in the game.

"Canadiens grab tough road point" should have said "Canadiens give up the lead and lose"
