Agreed on San Jose. Dominate the regular season and then implode during the playoffs. Which makes zero sense considering the wealth of talent they have on that team.

I won't disagree on the coaching. But it always seemed that San Jose had at least, decent chemistry.
personally here is my Playoff Tree for round 1
East
Boston VS Pittsburgh
Washington VS Florida
New Jersey VS RAngers
Flyers Vs Habs
West
Sharks Vs Oilers
Red Wings Vs Wild
Flames Vs Blue Jackets
Canucks Vs Blackhawks
Ok i know i didn'T make much changes, but still
I sense dallas will fail to do the playoffs with the Loss of Richards and Morrow unless they make a big trade
Rangers Penguins and Habs will make playoff while struggling, while Blue Jackets and Panthers will finally have a playoff spot after all the work they been thew
But on East conference there's nothing made yet which makes stuff hard.
I put the Sabres out because without Vanek and Miller they are nothing.
If that tree is right, the most interesting Matchs up in my opinion
East Florida Vs Caps and Habs Vs Flyers, (i hate the bruins and the devils)
and on the west All of em wil lbe exciting exept RW vs Wild
Yeah Buffalo is in a bad spot right now. Without Vanek they really only have a few guys capable of scoring regularly(Stafford and Roy for example.) I will be surprised if Florida makes it to be blunt. They have been playing above their means for a while now and I am kind of expecting the bottom to fall out. Which kind of sucks because I like the way David Booth plays. Would love to see that guy in a Penguin uniform.
Renney out and Tortorella in....can the Rangers season be saved?
Fuck no, Tortorella is shit. He Had the power in TB back then with Richards, boyle, Lecavalier and St-Louis. Of Course he got a Stanley Cup, but after that he did nothing to support them.
Tortorella might bring them to the playoffs but Rangers will not pass first round
Also Renney didn't deserve to loose his job in my opinion. Renney and Therrien, both lost their job because they have gay DG, and goaler + some players that doesn't play like they are paid.
Rangers : Lundvisk(sp) rozival, redden and even drury got big contracts and plays MEH.
Pittsburgh, Satan and Fleury are not playing well. Honestly Shiro (sp) and Sather are the problem in both teams
I think Renney got a bum rap in the sense that the roster is clearly flawed, and there are guys (Redden, Drury, Gomez) who are signed to contracts that will fuck this team for the next few years. There's just not the offensive depth that should be there.
That being said, this team has played without any fire for months now. They play to not lose, and prey their goalie can keep them in a game and they can scrap in a goal and drag it to the shootout. Tortorella should change the culture and attitude of the team, which has been way too despondent fo way too long this season. I expect to see more aggressive forechecking and up-tempo attacking that we were promised heading into this season. Personally I think guys like Dubinsky, Callahan, Zherdev (maybe), Prucha (maybe), and Gomez will do much better under Tortorella. Loved what Renney brought to the team from his understanding of the game, but there was clearly something lacking.
When the dust settles though, I want to hear Renney's thoughts on this. Word is he's been offered a job within the organization, and I hope he takes it. He'd be fantastic for their prospect development
And I will be shedding no tears for Perry Pearn...our PP has been fucking atrocious
Zherdev will not do well if Tortorella is tough on him. When he was here in Columbus, he used to throw temper tantrums whenever Hitchcock would jump on him for missing a play, or not playing hard enough. Zherdev is a tremendous talent, but he's got an "I'm untouchable" attitude, and that doesn't mesh well with "tough" coaches like Tortorella.
On a side note: I really hope the Jackets can make the playoffs, we're looking really solid right now, and the crowds at Nationwide have been "Standing Room Only" for every home game since that big win against the Red Wings.
Zherdev is kind of an anomaly still. The guy has all the talent in the world and could be a fantastic player. But it's his head that's messed up. He reminds me of Alexandre Daigle. The guy had talent out the fucking ass, but he was so wrapped up everything EXCEPT hockey. His production never caught up with his talent. Same way with Rico Fata and Konstantin Koltsov. Tons of talent, speed, grit. But no hockey sense at all.
The problem with Sather is the interview he gave yesterday
<interniewer to tortora> You know that Sather wants Shawn Every what will you do
<tortora> I don't want shawn every in my chamber
<interniewer to Sather> You know that Tortora do not want Shawn Every what will you do
<sather> Tortora will have to do with it, .
Sather is so stupid
I won't even make fun of the interview. I wouldn't want Sean Avery on my team either. Guy is a distraction, plain and simple.
No one wants Sean Avery, that's why he cleared waivers. The only person in the NHL that thinks Sean Avery is worth it, is Glen Sather.
Honestly, if Sather does get every, Rangers will surely not make playoffs, unless every changed which i doubt
Oh come on Rata you don't think two months of anger management is enough to clear up a lifetime of problems? For shame!
Sorry forgot to add the quotes. you know how he will be
he will be "good" and become back the bitch he was at playoffs
better?![]()
