No Stars fan? 2nd best team last year and they only got better in offseason.

Not in New England / Canada either. Infact, most people here aren't haha. I mean yeah, few people in the Bible Belt area where you seem to be from like hockey, but a large portion of the United States still enjoys hockey. The midwest has Chicago and Detroit, 2 of the original 6 teams, as well as Pittsburgh, Minnesota up there, and Columbus teams. Florida has a couple teams, as well as several teams in California and several spread up through the tornado regions (St Louis, Texas, and I'm clumping Colorado in here even though its not that much of a tornado-known state). Plus, I know a girl in Tennessee who loves hockey. Granted she moved there from Pennsylvania but still.
go san jose, here's to another second round choke.
San Jose and Dallas has that one epic play off game that went on forever. For that game alone I'll say the sharks didn't choke. Dallas was just the better team in the end.
I'm still not convinced that the sharks can make it past the second round this year. They'll still do better than the canucks this year barring a miracle run.
I used to live in western Kentucky a good portion of my life, never really knew about hockey. Moved near Pittsburgh about six years ago but never really had an interest in hockey until my mom got into it December of last year. Went to my first game in March of this year, fell in love.
Now I have tickets for the season home opener against the Devils this weekend. Can't fucking wait. It's gonna be electric in Mellon Arena, yesssssssssssssssssssssss.
I admittedly haven't been paying much attention to Hockey lately (Phillies/Eagles taking all my attention) but supposedly the Flyers should be pretty good again this year. Looking forward to the season.
Even though I live in D.C. where apparently the Redskins are the only pro sports team, I've been a long-time Caps fan. Went to game one and game seven against the Flyers last year, and I even got to see the Cup at game four in the '98 finals (damn you Esa Tikkanen!) I'm anxious to see if Boudreau's system works after everyone's had a summer to look at film. But even if it doesn't, Jesus Christ it's fun to watch Ovie play.
Blackhawks!!
Bluejackets are winning the cup this year. Book it. Done.
go MTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol on LS we got a MTL fan(me) 2 canucks fan and 1 RW fan. There is someone from Toronto but he prefer not voting for his local team (I wonder why)
Can't wait Friday for MTL @Buffalo
CRUSH THOSE SABRES!
Pft Canes will finish 2nd in their division, due to be with Florida Tampa Bay And Atlanta (3 team that won't do good this year, TB maybe but theyr got 0 defense so)
And um Washington will finish first of SE division
Back to back cups inc
- Hasek and Drake
+ Hossa and Conklin
better than the 90's red wings imo
red wings look good up front but their defense better be solid. Osgood will not be able to carry the team in goal.
Good game between Canucks & Anaheim yesterday, this could be raymond's year.
Flyers fan here. Cant wait to hear how we are the dirtiest team in the league this year. Flyguys look pretty good. I think alot of it depends on how well Biron can back up his playoffs last year, and see whether or not it was a fluke. if he plays as good as he did last year, the Flyers will be up there. Not to mention a healthy Gagne.
The Blackhawks will be a team to watch this year. And so will the Rangers. getting rid of Jagr was the best thing that could have happened. He dragged that team down
Pittsburgh is gonna struggle for a bit without 2 key d-men. (Gonchar and Whitney)
Oilers look good on paper, but we'll see what SuckTavish does for them behind the bench. Even watching them in pre-season, I was thinking "Oh man, they're still on the pass 50 times before shooting trip..." I'll hold out for some optimism when I see how they play in the reg season. The main reason I even pay attention to them now is for Sam Gagner.
Habs fan in Oil country here though. I'm just really glad they didn't pick up Sundin. Hopefully Laraque will take care of business so they don't get pushed around again. They have all the potential in the world, they just gotta live up to the pressure of repeating 1st place in the East, not to mention having a great run in the post-season for their centennial celebration. It's hard enough even being a mediocre team in Montreal, and now when there's so much hype surrounding the team, we'll see how they perform.
Obligatory "Flyers suck" from your Pennsylvanian Penguin brothers.
In other news, is anyone else doing fantasy leagues this year? my team is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.
C - Olli Jokinen / Joe Sakic
LW - Dany Heatley a.k.a. The Murderer / Simon Gagne
RW - Daniel Afreddson / Nathan Horton
Forwards - Teemu Selanne / Keith Tkachuck
D - Scott Neidermayer / Chris Pronger / Zdeno Chara / Brian Rifalski
G - Roberto Luongo / Chris Osgood
Backups - Steve Stamkos / Milan Michalek / Alex Goligoski / Manny Fernandez
After only playing like 2-3 games last season, and going undrafted in our draft, everyone was like "Why?" when I dropped Cam Barker of Chicago to pick Alex Goligoski (Pittsburgh defenseman) up. Even more so, I benched Chara this week for him, since Chara got a late start to the preseason and may be rusty, and started Goligoski this week, and he kindly thanks me by scoring in his first game of the year. I felt soooooooooooooooo smart haha
