SHOOTOUT!
SHOOTOUT!
Woooooooooooooooooo! Crosby scores Pens win! 5-0 on a road trip for the first time ever!
May be a bit premature still, but I really hope Bylsma gets the job for head coach. What he's done to this team has been pretty much a miracle, and with the addition of some really good trade deadline pick-ups in Kunitz and Guerin, this team looks solid. It's just a shame that it's going to be nothing short of a push to stay in the playoffs with the current situation, but I really have no doubt we'll make it.
It's gonna be a dogfight the rest of the way for the eastern conference.
Florida in #5 spot with 76 points
Buffalo in #10 spot with 73 points
Huge win for the Rangers today. Crowd was really into it for a matinee game (which the Rangers have been atrocious in all season). Their confidence is growing and they're FINALLY getting balanced scoring from the guys who are supposed to be scoring goals for them. Tomorrow is gonna be a huge game in Carolina (only 1 point back of Rangers, but played 1 more game). Gotta get the 2 points, keep this nice streak going
Huge win for the habs too, start bad but turco played a shitty game
Now to be honest and not a bitch from all the east team that are on the playoff race MTL have the advantage.
Simply because habs play 9 of their 10 next game at home. But that is just number speaking, we all knopw that numbers arn't always true :D
Also in all the teams MTL play most of their game against teams that are off the playoffs
Exemple 2 games for NYI 2 vs ottawa 2 vs toronto etc but yeah lolnumber
there's 4 spots for 6 teams (canadiens, rangers, panthers, penguins, hurricanes, sabres). It's a bit of a crapshoot at this point, and really all it takes is one of those teams to get hot, or go cold. I think it's hard to say any team has an advantage, or disadvantage at this point. All these teams have been wildly inconsistent, hence battling for their playoff lives.
But it's okay to have a bit of homerism. If the Rangers can keep up their play as they have since Tortorella has been the man behind the bench, I like their odds.
The thing with the game is this
First Period : Stars played a nearly perfect game, Habs wern't able to do shit and at one time shots were like 10-3 for Dallas, But carey Price limited the problems to only 1 goal.
2nd Period : Stars started sloppy and the strange thing is that Habs had 4 people on the penalty bench, which gave stars a 5-3 for like 4-6mins. But Stranly stars got like 4-5 good scoring chance which is pretty low for 4min of 5-3, Plekanek Markov and Georges did the Triangle perfectly, after that MTL got a boost of confidence while Stars kinda lost confidence which made MTL take a lead of 2-1
But yeah Stars is what 0-5 in the last 5 games?
You guys need Sean Every Back
Kidding lol
I personally think that Florida and Buffalo are going to be the odd men out. Buffalo has no goalie now with Miller out and I just don't think Florida has the experience in the playoff race atmosphere. They have a first year coach and a lot of young faces who are sniffing the playoffs for the first time in almost ten years I believe. The Penguins control their own destiny right now. They play Florida three more times I believe before the close of the season. Those games will be huge for them. The Rangers I think will come around and make it in, as will Carolina. And despite all their current issues I think the Canadiens will somehow squeak their way in.
Habs just Fired Carbonneau, it's still a rumor but is like 90% true
Gainey will coach the team till the end of the season
Shit has hitted the fan
It's official, Carbonneau is out. Pity, I thought Bob Gainey was more of the problem. What a disaster of a year for Montreal.
Yeah but the problem is the players not necesserly the coach
MTL killed 3 good coaches latly that has or had good careers with other teams.
Claude Julien, Alain Vignault and Michel Therrien
But the problem is it's easier to fire a coach then 5-6 all star player right?
Worked for the Penguins.
And I finally have tickets for the first game I'll be down by the ice for, fuck yessssssssssssss.

Shutout #9 for Mason! Once again we beat one of the League's top teams, been making a habit of that this season. Next up is Pitt.
Pens are fully in playoff mode right now. Every single shift they are out there killing themselves. If only they could have started the season this way. Should be a good game on Thursday. That move Malkin put on Vokoun was absolutely sick. He deked him out of his jock.
I fucking hate Steve Mason for how he treats meThats another shutout I've missed from him in my fantasy league cause I benched him for fear of him getting shelled. I did it back when he shutout Washington on the road in D.C. too.
He seems to be regaining his form from before he got Mono, he flat out robbed the Bruins more than a few times when we had terrible giveaways in our own zone. The crowd last night was freaking amazing, I really hope we make the playoffs.
I hope Columbus makes it too. Though I also hope they die a fiery pus filled death on Thursday when they play the Penguins. So take that how you will![]()
