Well the Penguins certainly made it interesting last night. Up 4-0 in the third and they give up three quick goals. I loved watching Tocchet bitch about goaltender interference when Sykora scored given the fact that Tampa scored after one of their forwards shoved Scuderi into Fleury.

Now it's time to cross the fingers and pray we get New Jersey in the first round.

i was at the flyers/rangers game in NY, on 3/15. i have to say i was really let down by the fans there. there was only 1 fan who defended the rangers in the entire section. mind you, this guy was trying to tell me that Mike Richards was a dirty player and Avery wasn't, but hey, its the effort that counts

Seeing the Sabres and the Redwings play side by side was very telling for me. Detroit looked organized, skated hard, had two men on the puck to every one Sabre.

Honestly, the Sabres looked like an amateur team. You could get the sense that the Sabres never really had control of the game at any point, and Detroit was sitting back waiting for the Sabres to mess up. And surely enough, they did.

We say fuck this team while rooting for it. Being endlessly frustrated doesn't make you less of a fan. Shit Izzy is bashing guys on the Sabres, is he less of his team? ALL sports fans do that. You're the one making it a "New York thing".

For the record that game was 2/15 against the Flyers. I was there. That was arguably the lowest point of the season (up there with the shooting gallery in Dallas, losing at home on Graves night, and losing at home on Bathgate & Howell night). To use that game as a microcosm about why you seem to have something against Rangers fans (more so than the team) seems absurd. And what exactly we were supposed to be getting behind? The team that was lucky to be down ONLY 1-0 after the 1st? the team that gave up a 5-3 SHG, or the team that gave up 3 quick goals right after?

yea, youre supposed to stand your ground on your home turf. you dont let visiting fans chant for their team inside your building.

I don't know what section you were in, actually I can guess, because there are some that are notorious for resells/visiting sections. You're giving you guys too much of a pat on the back for either thinking:

1) you were cheering that loud

or

2) we'd give that much of a shit about your chanting when we're WINNING the game 4-1

It's the same way with any game against interconference rivals. You should see one section in Mellon Arena when the Penguins play either Toronto or Montreal. It's religiously filled with their fans and they get loud. Not as loud as the Penguins fans, but definitely loud enough to hear them. That's not really a black mark against the Penguins. It's more of a positive note for Montreal/Toronto over the loyalty of their fans.

I agree completely. If the Flyers fans were chanting at a Rangers home game they should be proud that they have that many loyal fans. It's not an insult to the Rangers that the visiting team had vocal fans in attendance.

I have been to Philly to watch them play the Pens. I did wear a Lemieux jersey. It has absolutely nothing to do with the teams playing and everything to do with fans lacking the respect to treat people like human beings. Taking a bit of razzing is expected. When I'm getting hit with garbage and getting threatened, it has nothing to do with the game being played. It has everything to do with certain fans being classless idiots. Has it changed since I went there? I don't think it has.
