This does not bode well for the West if Detroit wins, unless Anaheim wins and then pummels the shit out of them in the second round. Even if they lost they could put a serious hurt on Detroit.

Bluejackets looked good for the first 25 mins or so, we got some real quality chances but were unable to cash in. I think that wore on our psyche and really helped Detroit gain confidence as they started the game looking like the newbies and we looked like the veteran team.

After this season is over and done, I really would like us to fire our PP coach, had we scored on just one of those first 4 Power Plays that we had, it might have been an entirely different game.

but you cant say that his rep had nothing to do with it. it wasnt that vicious of a punch. i mean, it looked like he was just going for the faceoff and Talbot got down too low. but if Carter was taking that faceoff and the same thing happened, he probably wouldnt have been suspended.

i really dont mind. I like Carcillo, but im not sad to see him sat a game.

i would suspect a much better effort tonight.

Fantastic game to watch tonight between Pittsburgh and Philly. Much cleaner but Philly shafted themselves again with two stupid penalties to set up the Pens. If I were Stevens I would be fucking choking people in the locker room after tonight. Fleury made some absolutely ridiculous saves tonight. I'm not ashamed to admit he stole that game from Philly long enough for the offense to catch up. Going to be tough for Philly to come back from 2-0. Still a lot of hockey to be played though.

Luongo put on another clinic last night and Sundin got the game winning goal. St Louie is gonna have to really make a push back home to get back in this series.

I won't be surprised to see Cammalleri get away with it.

No suspension as of yet, but I'd rather keep it that way. It's a cheap shot, and deserving of a penalty (which was called if I remember) but not a suspension. I don't think Carcillo was deserving of one either, he barely touched him, let them fucking play. No matter how hard Bettman and his gang of idiots try to turn the sport into Disney-On-Ice, this is still hockey, it's still a contact sport, and shit like this is gonna continue to happen. Certain players have targets painted on their backs, certain players wouldn't get called for removing a skate and trying to slit someone's throat. That doesn't make it right or fair, but replacing Bettman would be a step in the right direction. If the players think a hit was dirty, and the refs didn't call it? Drop the gloves or shut the fuck up. Quit trying to sell calls.

tl;dr: Fighting needs to stay, Bettman needs to go.
