Big Saturday night for hockey. 13 games on tonight. Some good match ups too. Rangers VS Flyers will be a good show and not just for the Palin factor. New York has been kickin ass so far.

Canucks vs Flames round 2 is almost guaranteed to be a slug fest. Wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of injuries

Chicago vs Washington will be good to see too. Same with Penguins vs the Devils.

Had nice seats at the Penguin's game tonight. Deflection from Gill's skate was in slow motion, sucked so bad. Malkin is looking tired like he was at the end of the playoffs, but maybe it's still a bit of jetlag. Not to mention everyone was trying to be a little too flashy, namely Crosby and Malkin. Though Crosby did pull off a very nice back pass between his legs.

i dont understand how the Rangers can play 3 games before they come to Philly and open the Flyers season. it definitely showed. they were clearly the better team in the first period.

but from the 2nd period on, the Flyers took it to them. best game plan for the Rangers was to take all they could in the first period, cause they knew they would have crisper legs and sharper passes. Flyers had to get out of the period with minimal damage. but alas, a loss is a loss.

i cant believe they won't rematch until February. we'll just have to slap the Pens around until then :-p

no stealing...team fought back hard in the 3rd. I wanna go on and on about things about this team that still need work, and how its possible to be happy but frustrated with this team despite its 8-2-1 start...but fuck that shit. Zherdev's goal was amazing. god bless sitting in the end the ranger shoot at in the 3rd...just saw the twine move and i jumped out of my seat it was incredible, the whole place blew up. I was cheering everyone in my section, just losing it.

I still keep shaking my head at Henriks's play in OT though...save on fedotenko deflection...save on crosby backhander...wicked glove save on scudderi that got deflected on the way in....what a performance. but make no mistake, this night is all Zherdev's...man i hope he stays here because he is really impressing me, and while i never got to watch much of him when he was in Columbus, every negative trend of him I'd heard (not being a "team guy", not playing D, taking some nights off) this kid is good good good. ZHERDEV!!!

I'm sure it's no different for any big name. Penguins fans are apparently a lot more civil in that aspect, since at Mellon Arena we never chant someone sucks, but certain people will get constant booing as soon as they touch the puck... like Crosby was getting. It was ridiculous in the playoffs last year whenever Jagr would get the puck, I doubt he could hear himself think. No different with Ovechkin, either, and I'm sure it'll be even worse when Detroit comes to town and Hossa gets a stick on the puck.

I do hoho! I spend my time at games rooting for the rangers, not rooting against the opposition. but chant against other players when it makes sense. in OT though, don't be cocky...cause as i said before...Henrik basically stole OT from the pens.
