I saw half my team go past your boy, Kimmo! Penalty was ending, he tried passing it down low to his right side, Kunitz got his stick in the lane and took off, passing it took Cooke, who gave it right back to Kunitz. Kunitz got it past a diving Timonnen, trying to get back, and Crosby buried it and Biron in the net. Then the arena got REALLY quiet, then they started booing, and then it got quiet again til midway through the 3rd. BEAUTIFUL.

Now I'm not going to get into the shit flinging going on I will say that Knuble acted like he got shot when Hal Gill touched him after the faceoff.

Here's the bottom line. We can all sit here and bitch about the games, the refs, etc. But when it comes right down to it, I think the series has been called evenly. For every call you claim is a dive I can produce one on the Flyers side. For every missed call for the Flyers I can produce a missed call for the Penguins. It's just going to happen, that's the way the sport is.

The Crosby goal is 50/50 and we all know it. It depends on who is on the ice and if it's actually ruled a goal to start. If it had been waived off then reviewed, it would have been most likely no goal. I would be interested to see it again to see if there was no contact or not. But I'm at work now, so I couldn't watch it anyways.

Fleury stole that game plain and simple. Which is the difference between the teams that will advance and the teams that don't. Goaltending. All the great teams have a goalie that is able to put the team on their back and steal a win or two. Lundquist does it in New York, Luongo in Vancouver, Brodeur in Jersey, and Fleury here.

I just don't see Biron being able to do that sadly. He's a good goalie but I think it's time Nitty got a shot.

Certainly no garuntees the Pens will win it, but if we get bounced in the 2nd, 3rd, or final round... it still won't ruin how good one more victory over the Flyers will taste.

The crosby shouldnt have counted, but moving past that, Kennedy had a free lane in the slot. he SHOULD score there. idont see how any goal besides Scuderi's in game 3 was weak from Biron.

Anyway, Fleury was amazing last night. Briere almost scored on the corner and Fleury snagged that. Impressive.

And that's the sign of a good goalie. A guy who can come back from a bad game and have a truly phenomenal one.

I agree that he has the physical talent and tools to win a Stanley Cup. When he's on he's a great goalie. The problem is that he seems mentally shakey at times. Which when you're in the playoffs is like the kiss of death. He seems fine until he lets in that first goal. Then it seems like a toss up as to whether or not he's going to stand up and persevere or if he's going to crack. The last game he did not play badly. The Crosby goal we've discussed to death and the Kennedy goal was just a fine play that not many other goalies could have stopped. Down three games to one though, so what's the harm in trying Nitty.

But at least your goalie can stickhandle fairly well. When Fleury plays the puck I always hold my breath.

I know, right? The sad thing, too, is that Fleury has been working on his stickhandling for the past couple years... he used to be even worse. At least when he was worse, he knew not to go and play it. Now hes marginally, marginally better but thinks he can play it as well/often as Brodeur can.

He's definitely improved but he is still prone to making horrid plays when he's pressured. I seriously hate when I see him skating with it trying to fake out an incoming forward.

Thank god we got all that extra time to get Sundin and Salo healthy again. I was working the entire game but we had it playing in the other room so I could at least hear it.

Wish I had been able to go out and party. Vancouver always goes a little nuts when the Canucks win a series. Let's hope it continues a couple more rounds.

I almost threw something watching the end of the nj game, still am kinda pissed. Sure the goal went in with time to spare but the ref saying that interference was fine because brodeur had time to reset is absolute cover your ass bullshit. not asking for a penalty either just to wave the goal, that could easily dicked the series for NJ

Fleury was amazing last night, no doubt about it he won the game for them.

As for the Crosby goal, it shouldn't have counted. I was listening to the radio this morning and some NHL analyst came on and said that by rule, since he was inside the net before the puck crossed, and since he wasn't pushed, that the goal should have been nullified. He actually quoted it right out of the rule book and said the NHL's given reason for upholding it was completely misinterpreted. I guess they aren't allowed to determine something like that by replay, who knows.

Doesn't really matter though, I had no expectation of winning this series from the start, and I don't think either team has a shot in hell of winning the Cup anyway. I'm just happy its been entertaining thus far.

Nitty is way too inconsistent to ever be a true #1 goalie. He'll play great for a few games and then turn around and be terrible the next few. My only real beef with Biron is that he lets up too many soft goals and tends to give up goals in bunches. I still contend that if we had a top notch goalie in the past 15 years or so we'd have at least 2 or 3 Cups by now.

No matter how you look at it. It's a good year for hockey with these playoffs. When you have the Philly/Pitt smashfest in the first round, any year is good, but there is anticipation on the Cup finals this year. I honestly smell a Detroit vs. Pittsburgh repeat this year, but being a pens fan makes me slightly biased.

Sadly, he's correct. Now before the goal is another story. But when the goal was let through, he didn't touch Brodeur, at all. And he certainly wasn't in the crease. Refs got this one right, though I know how much it sucks.

Watching the Crosby goal again the only way he could have possibly been sent down is if the Philly dman got him in the skate as he was pulling up. But I'm at work so I only have one angle to look at and it's kind of unclear.
