I'm a big believer in disappointment making the team more hungry for next year. I think it helps them understand just how grand a stage they were on and how all it takes is 16 wins.

A lot of us Bruins fans are surprised that they extended Tim Thomas for four more years. I was expecting a two year extension at most. Tuuka Rask, the Providence Bruins goalie, is absolutely spectacular. It looks like they're going to try and slowly shift from Thomas to Rask in the future, but imo Rask will be ready to step into a #1 spot by the end of next season. We'll see how it goes, though. For now, as long as Thomas can stop pucks for another 12 games then it's all good.

WEEI went over his contract one day and compared it with Rask and stuff, and it seems what they're trying to do is that Thomas will be the man for 2 years, and then his pay starts downward for the last two years where he will split time and eventually backup Rask.

In the end, years 3 and 4 of the contract don't hurt as much as the next 2. However this season ends for the B's, it's going to be a tense offseason with the cap issues they are going to bump into. FFS, they better pay Krejci, or I'll send Jeremy Jacobs a mug full of my own shit.

Biron played out of his mind tonight. Calling bullshit on Stevens, he somehow cloned Fleury from Tuesday and replaced Biron with Fleury II. Biron was the only good player on the ice tonight.

Late to the party here, but I'll agree that Thomas is a decent goalie at best. He's in his mid 30's, doesn't have much in the way of natural ability, but I will give him this: Dude plays his fucking ass off on a nightly basis. Just give him the damn Vezina, how many more chances is he gonna get? Honestly...

Pens were flat the entire game. Philly wanted it more. The few opportunities they did have Biron was prepared for. Should make for a good game 6.

What I don't get is how they can have a 1st period like they had and then play so just damn dumb the rest of the game.

IF they beat Philly and move on, They really need to get their act together if they expect to beat whoever else they're going to play.

Philly is in a good position. Going back to Philly for a game 6, they can tie it up, and then have momentum going into game 7.

However, Fleury bounced back from game 3 for an amazing game 4...he might do it again.
