Yeah he got handcuffed on the Eaton goal, but Jesus tittyballs was that the save of the season or what. I was pretty disappointed with the Caps' passing and puck control through the first two periods, and they were lucky to be tied 2-2. But a strong third, plus Varly, and I couldn't be happier with winning game one.

Yeah, that save made me drop my jaw. I will say though if Crosby had just a little bit more power on it, it probably would've overwhelmed Varlamov's grip on the stick.

I'm still very confident in the Penguins about this series though. I didn't think the Caps played particularly well and we for sure sucked ass this game and it was only a one goal game. Without the ridiculous save, this would've been a different game (then again, the same could be said about our first round with Fleury's toe save on Carter, etc., so I don't wanna hold onto that too long).

I think this is oversimplifying. Of course I'm biased, but I think the great save cancels out the soft goal from the point earlier. And Ovechkin did ring the post at least twice. Varlamov was the difference, but there is a lot of room for the Caps to improve. Of course, same can be said for the Pens, too. I think this series is going to go on forever. And, frankly, I was happy to see a physical but open game after the Rangers slugfest.

It's not been as fast as the first three periods (understandably so) but it's been a good game to this point. I'm guessing it finishes in this third OT though.

I don't really root for any particular team that much, I'd like to see the Wizards succeed but... yeah I'm not going to dissect that one. I've always just followed certain players, Ray Allen's been a guy I've liked for a while and was happy to see him get a ring last year. As for LeBron, I just think the Cavs look better than any other team right now, should be an interesting finals if it's Lakers/Cavs like everyone predicted. But I agree he needs to actually win something to deserve all the attention.

The game today's been pretty damn good, Hiller has been great all postseason but 59 saves so far? Damn that's hot. Triple overtime starting soon. :D

Cam Ward is hugely underrated (can't forget he's a former Conne Symthe winner,) mainly because he plays for a team that doesn't get much attention. He carried such a large percent of the work load this year and really took off with it during the 2nd half. Work hasn't allowed me to watch much of these games but with what I've seen seems that he'll need to continue to be sharp if Carolina has a chance.

I was a little disappointed in the Pens/Caps game to be honest. It was a good game to watch, but both teams seemed a little flat. Hopefully they pick it up a bit more for tonight's game. I would have to say that if the Pens don't squeak one out on the road it's going to be very difficult for them to win this series. If they can walk away with a split, it's going to be a long fun series.

Gotta love watching Anaheim steal one in Detroit. This is kind of why I think they have an outstanding shot at knocking out the Wings. On paper they are horridly matched with Detroit. But yet they still manage to come out and play damn good hockey against them. They've been here before, and they've played Detroit before. This isn't new territory and they aren't intimidated by the Wings at all. Should be a fantastic series when it's all said and done.

I understand that the officials don't want to determine the outcome of the game and just "let them play", but seriously it's getting ridiculous how different the game is this year during the playoffs. Interference is almost never called after the first period, elbowing, crosschecking and diving have all but disappeared from the rule book, it's insane what some games turn into. If these games were played during the regular season, the outcomes would be vastly different I think.

Oh and I think that they've actually invented a new sport this offseason called "Goalie bowling".
