Wow. pretty emotional guy
This bugged me but I forgot to respond until they mentioned it before the start of the game tonight.
CAR has 3 players ranked in the top 10 for hits. More than any other team...
Ruutu, Cole, and Gleason.
Washington, Chicago, and Carolina all have 6 players in the top 30 as well. More than any other teams.
I really gotta' stop getting tickets for playoff games. Seems I always jinx my team. Got tickets for the Panthers...they eat it vs AZ. I get tickets for the Canes...Boston is up 4-1 now. -.-'
Milan Lucic is on a mission. I like Boston's chances at home in game 7.
For the sake of my tickets on the 24th I don't.
I have nothing hockey related to comment on. I just watched Taken with Liam Neeson and that movie fucking rocked. He was a badass. That is all.
Tim Thomas was awesome and Cam Ward was bad. Story of game 6.
Hard to lay that on Ward really. Other than Montador's goal he didn't really have much of a chance to make a save on them.
Thomas was definitely on fire tonight though. Boston owes him dinner.
Edit: I'd say Ward was unlucky with a weak defense that made some terrible decisions and Thomas was on fire is a more accurate description of the game.
Nice that the Ducks feel the need to try and cheapshot people after the game is over and they win. Getzlaf with a hook on Hossa into some punches thrown with gloves on, Niedermayer with an elbow to the face of Datsyuk, and Perry going after Rafalski in his first game back after an injury. Then again the only surprising thing to me is that it wasn't Pronger.
The Anaheim Goons - wait til the final buzzer to sucker punch the Wings best players. Of course they'll never get suspensions.
You took my thunder. Lol. Chicago vs. Pittsburgh/Washington would be a great final. I hate to say it, but no one wants to see the ducks or wings. Been there, done that. Time for the NHL as this is a turning point. Glad there are some people on BG who understand hockey. Lol.
I'm just intrigued by how people can say "it will be a great final" before the conference finals even start. Great hockey is not made by big names or young stars facing each other. It is made by good or great teams which are near each others levels facing off. I would wager that Chicago vs Wash/Pit would be a good series, but I could say the same about any of the combinations possibly remaining, Carolina maybe not so much (and Anaheim for me personally). Boston vs Chicago or Detroit would be excellent in my book, not sure when the last original 6 Final happened.
Also attendance proves you wrong about people not wanting to see the Wings. TV ratings as well if I remember correctly, though I can't find numbers for those at the moment.
edit:
lol Scott Walker, lol Ducks. Oh wait, nevermind, the NHL doesn't have to adhere to their own rules!rule 47.22 states: A player or goaltender who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime, shall automatically be suspended for one game.
also in before butthurt comments, if Detroit doesn't show up to play for 2 straight games in which they could eliminate an opponent I can't really complain about reffing in regards to results. It would be nice if the NHL got serious about what they lay out in the rules though.
Good lord you live in Colorado and you cheer for Detroit. Back in the day that was like putting a bullseye on your back with how much the Av's hated the Wings lol. Am I alone in my hatred of a seventh game? I freak out from start to finish usually. Hope the neighbors send their kids to the grandparents tonight because there's going to be a ton of profanity being screamed.
If you look further into the situation, the suspension was appealed by the Ducks and the Player's Union and they won because the NHL ruled that it should not have been an instigator penalty based on testimony from several players around the situation. Ward had all intentions of fighting Walker but backed down at the very last second. You weren't there on the ice or at the appeal so you can't say that the NHL acted in the wrong by revoking the suspension.
you really cant say they were instigating, especially since none of us were down on the ice. but judging from niedermayer's history, datsyuk did something to deserve that. he just got robbed by hiller in the last couple seconds. its not out of the realm of possibility that datsyuk was frustrated about that. niedermayer isn't one to drop the gloves. yes, the elbow was a cheap shot, but im sure it was provoked.
perry on the other hand is a dirty fag hag. i wouldnt normally mind if he got suspended but i want to see the ducks win.
great finish to the game though. i was about to goto bed a few mins before the end, but im glad i stayed up to watch that. i was all pumped up.
why were the ducks appealing walker's TKO?the suspension was appealed by the Ducks
I agree when it comes to Niedermayer. He's always been a fairly classy guy when it comes to the game. I really don't see him doing something like that completely unprovoked. Unless Chris Pronger was able to possess him or something. When you think Anaheim and cheap shots the first person you think of is Pronger, not Neidermayer. Perry is just a douchebag.
dude, thats exactly what i said to myself as i was watching the replay. i didnt know pronger was on the ice at the time. idk how he wasnt involved in that.
