Man Flippula almost got destroyed again. You'd think after the Brown hit he'd learn to keep his head up. Good first game, I hope Chicago can push back next game. They were a little too loose this game but it was definitely fun to watch.

Hudler*
The hit he got shaken up on really didn't look big at all, seemed like he just wasn't expecting it.
Bah Hudler, thank you.
Yeah it wasn't that big but yet again he gets caught unaware. He's lucky there aren't more guys like Scott Stevens playing these day. If he's not careful his career could be ended early.
The sad thing is that the score from yesterday's game doesn't indicate how close of a game it was. Chicago played hard, but Detroit has the experience in this one. As much as I would like to see Chicago win, I think it will be Detroit in five.
Did anyone else see the close neck cut on that Chicago player? I didn't catch the name, but another teammate got upended and his skate grazed the other player's neck. It drew blood, but it was below the chin.
as easy as it may be to be pissy at you, i was actually more frustrated with the flyers because i knew they were going to lose that game. =/I had a psychic connection with Abraxas during game 6 vs Philly, I swear. When Eaton put in that goal after all the season-long Timmonen agitating and the rivalry of the prior week and a half, I think somewhere (even if he won't admit it) he thought about me and got that white blinding anger flash for a moment.
and yea, Eaton has had a better playoff. but hes still not better than Timo. Eaton has more offensive production cause he isn't the guy the Pens put out to shut down the other team's offense. without that responsibility, its much easier to participate in the offense
i didnt get to see any of the wings/hawks game. the gf wanted to go see Angels & Demons. lookin forward to watchin the canes/pens tonight though
Anything looks harmless compared to Zednik's. A couple inches more and it could have easily done far more. It was obviously the beard that saved him though.
And yeah Brill outside of a few moments it was very even. This is a Hawks team that can score very well if you give them the opportunity, I think it will show if the Wings break down at all at any point this series. I would not be surprised at all with a fairly short series but at the same time I would not be surprised with 7 games, if all of the games are like yesterday's and it ends in less it will probably feel like it should have gone longer.
The game was really good until the Wings got that 3rd goal. I made the drive up to Detroit from Chicago with a friend and there was a ton of Hawk fans there, not sure if that reflected on the Hawks play or not but they were in the game for most of it. I thought for sure when Versteeg tied it at 2 that we had a chance, then suddenly we just fell apart and Wings took over.
That's what I like about the Blackhawks. It's not just Kane and Toews scoring. They are getting a good amount of help from their other forwards. I love how Patrick Sharp gets literally no media attention at all. He's one of the best players you've never heard of.
Kane And Toews only had 8 minutes of ice time through 2 periods, I don't know how much they got on the ice in the 3rd, but it's kind of hard to win when your top scorers aren't playing.
Yeah baby! 2-0 Pens. Miro Satan and Malkin tickling the twine early. Canes better get those legs moving instead of standing still or this game will be ugly.
Ok I'm going to list some phrases that should never, ever, ever be spoken while you are broadcasting.
Scrambly Wambly
Frog's Tongue
Magic Puck
Happy Hands
Versus, pay some fucking attention to the fucking pinhead you have doing the broadcast. He's a fucking idiot. Get someone, anyone else, that isn't a fucking retard. kthxbai
Still happy with how the Canes played with the exception of them being asleep for the first period.
Let em' go down 0-2 and they'll light the fuck up when they come back to Raleigh.
I wish they didn't have to wait till their back was against the wall to really play, but then they wouldn't be the Cardiac Canes.
Too bad the Pens telecasters coined the phrase "Cardiac Kids" for the Pens a couple of years ago, due to their young age, tense final 10 minutes usually, and [comparatively] successful record when trailing after 2 periods.
And I agree... Versus telecasting today was fucked up. All we needed was the little short announcer (I'll be damned if I give him the honor of remembering his name) talking about how how his co-worker has a "big long stick" again and we'd be in TV hell. At least no Carolina fans were face fucking little children in the crowd.
I actually preferred these telecasters over Emerick and Olczyk, other than the catch phrases already pointed out that were just ridiculously stupid lol. But maybe because these two tonight weren't so glaringly obvious in their anti-Pens bias, I was content with listening to them. They called the game good, actually payed attention to the game and didn't get to babbling like idiots like our local FSN telecasters.
Was a good game to watch in any sense. What happened to Ruutu anyway? I don't remember anything happening to him. And damn did I feel bad for Fleury when Gill got knocked into him, like a big fucking tree falling down on you.
I missed the first 9 minutes of the game trying to get the DirectTV in my apartment complex's clubhouse area to work, but on a replay it looked like him and Cooke were both coasting around and they clipped legs, both of them went down but Cooke got up faster and wasn't too hurt. Or was that the Cole injury? Both Cole and Ruutu got hurt by legs getting mixed up. Yeah actually, Ruutu was after him and Eaton got tangled in front of the net. Cole was Cooke and him running into each other.
Fuck Joe Benonti and his biscuit up the dasher boards idiot self. He does the Capitals with another retard Smokin Al Kokin here in the DC area on comcast. He's been an idiot broadcaster since the old days of Home Team Sports...
I seriously thought I was done hearing him after the Pens finished the Caps, I guess I was completely wrong.
Question for you east coasters. Is Carolina the best defensive team Pittsburgh has played so far in the playoffs? Washington was pretty meh but I didn't see the Pittsburgh/Philly series. Was Philly's defense any good?
