there's no question the Pens are playing good and can win the series. the only thing that concerns me is Detroit's ability to humble any team they play and put them in their place.

another thing is that the series the Pens have played have gotten progressively easier from the start. despite living here, i think Philly is the Pens #1 rival. they started with us this year, then went to washington, which was still a hard series, but the media makes more of it than crosby/ovechkin do. they could have beaten WSH in 5 games if Malkin didn't take a nap for those couple of games. whereas he was ready to play every night against the flyers. and sweeping Carolina... i dont think that suprised anyone.

but I think it went from hard -> easy -> easier for pittsburgh so far this year. but hey, last year it was the other way around and they ended up losing, so idk.

i think i have to go with PIT in 6, due to the ridiculous amount of focus and determination in Crosby. im not saying one player will win the series, but his play is what inspires the rest of the pens.

but being a flyers fan, i wouldnt complain if they lost

Whoever wins I think will be in 6. I'd prefer it if the Wings won obviously but I think the Pens have at the least an equal chance of playing to their ability and winning. I'm not the type of guy to use it an as excuse but if Detroit still has a lot of scratches for the two home games I can see things going south real fast.

Lidstrom, Ericsson have been "confirmed" back for game 1 by Babcock. Datsyuk is still a game time decision, he's been skating but apparently does not have all his speed back. Lilja started practicing again, though I don't see him back before game 5ish, if he's back at all for these playoffs. Draper I haven't heard any promising news about, but we've got some kids who have been playing great filling in for him.

I think Dastuk will be back for game 2 or 3, and when he comes back will give the Wings a huge boost.

2 days of no hockey has been grating on me, but I really wish the Wings had a few more days to rest and get healthy. Oh well, you need to face adversity to win the cup.

Ok so Meatball is an orange and white tabby who was a feral cat. He's six weeks old so we're going to have to spend some time breaking those habits. He's still pretty skittish. So I'm going to have to put a towel under the spare bedroom door to attempt to drown out some of the noise from all the people coming over for the game.
