Zetterburg's catnap in the goal mouth is a vivid example of the need and benefits of having a sensor in the puck, like the NFL is considering for their footballs and end zone lines. 20 years in the future and that would've been a goal (assuming it crossed), regardless of the refs being able to see it.

Now correct me if I'm wrong and I'm really just splitting hairs on this one. But when the puck was on Osgood's back and Zetterberg jumped on top of him, had the puck been covered by Zetterberg(instead of Ozzie rolling on it) would that have resulted in a penalty?

i know its late, but i dont read BG over the weekends.

actually, if a player closes his hand on the puck in the crease, it results in a penalty shot for the other team, which can be taken by anyone on the ice at the time.

Abraxas you will probably appreciate this. I was so disgusted with how the Pens played last night I turned the game off with ten minutes left in the third. The more I watched the more I raged. And I didn't want to upset little Meatball. Hopefully the Pens come out strong on Tuesday and Thursday and can even this shit up by the weekend.

If fucking Scott Walker can get away with that, the NHL is not playing favorites by removing a suspension on Malkin for his actions in a melee Talbot started. My god Abraxas, and I actually sorta respected you... just like I sorta respected Osgood until he acted like he took a baseball bat to the face when he got a stick in his inch thick chestpad.

On the games this weekend, its funny how I always say to myself, "Damn the Wings are so lucky with that bounce/rebound/etc." I'm starting to slowly realize after watching pretty much every Wings playoff game that they're just THAT good. It's not all luck, it's good decision making, good positioning, and good discipline. And I'm sorry, but if the Pens would have done their research, they would have known, like the Wings do, that the end boards in Joe Louis Arena are like springboards. It's been that way for quite a while now, but it always seems to take certain teams by surprise.

Can't wait to see the rest of the games of this series, they've been closer than the score, but the Pens still have a ways to go before they can beat the Wings in a series, Malkin and Crosby need to mature a little bit more I think.

We took a couple but my wife can't find her cord for the camera. Without it we can't upload the pics to one of the laptops. He's a little violent too. I slept in the spare bedroom so he could get a little more acclimated to me and I woke up at about three in the morning to see him sitting on my chest staring at me. I go back to sleep and wake up after he whacks me in the face four or five times. Then I wake up at five with him attached to my arm biting and kicking it. I'm going to train him to attack on cue.

scott walker and ward were standing toe to toe, and walker said it was clear they were going to fight. walker isnt a dirty player, he's a fucking beast. he doesnt need to cheapshot someone, he can straight up fight. malkin on the other hand... zetterber didnt do anything to talbot besides get in his face. malkin was clearly frustrated and just started punching zetterberg.

I'm not going to debate whether or not Malkin should have been suspended. I think this playoff year has clearly shown that the NHL's disciplinary committee is a joke. Rules seem to change with the wind. As far as I'm concerned, this needs to be corrected. Immediately. When there is call for a disciplinary meeting that means someone could have gotten injured due to another player's actions. Stop thinking about the precious ratings and protect your players. But the NHL is clearly illustrating that ratings > safety. Just my take on it. If you're going to call penalties and enforce suspensions, there can be no exceptions. Period.

Well I'm not saying they'll throw it, but that's part of why I say over in 5, as I do think they can sweep.

1. That would imply they'll win game 3.
2. That would imply that you believe you they can win game 5, on home ice, for the Cup, which they failed to do so last year.

NBC says a lot of dumb things, but "You're not in trouble til you lose on your home ice" is a very insightful, true remark, because aslong as you win all your home ice games, you get 1 shot, 1 game at least, to try and win the Cup (game 7).

I can't say Detroit will sweep. Because I really don't think they are able to. This isn't a new position for the Penguins. Hell it's not even a new position for them this year in the playoffs. We were all worried when they went down 2-0 against Washington. I'm not saying Detroit = Washington. But I am saying don't count your chickens before they hatch. There's still a lot of hockey to be played.

Anyway about the finals. Pens played a good game at start but Red wings are sadly superior. But i blame the Ducks! if they didn't choke in the last 3 min of game 7 Red wings wouldn,t be there maybe!

Nice noncommittal answer Rata lol. They wouldn't be there!! Maybe! Definitely not a good coaching change for Montreal. While I think Carbonneau had to(he lost that team) they need a different style of coach up there. I just don't see Martin doing much better.
