I don't believe what Malkin did warranted a suspension, that rule shouldn't be in the books in the first place... fighting is part of the NHL, who cares if you fight during the final 5 minutes? There's a huge severity level disparity between headhunting in the final minutes and grabbing someone by the jersey and giving him a few rights. Worst that happens there is they lose a tooth. Pull out last week's issue of Sports Illustrated. They surveyed the players on whether or not fighting has a place in hockey and only 0.6% said no and 99.4% said yes. People who know nothing about hockey like Skip Motherfuck Bayless shouldn't be trying to condemn something they know nothing about - and the NHL shouldn't be letting these outsiders influence their game just cause they're scared to see a little blood.

No offense Sepukku, but your ability to give an objective opinion about the situation is non-existent. Malkin did deserve a suspension but didn't get one, he was frustrated at the end of the game and was taking it out on an opposing player, hence the instigator rule. Fighting in hockey is good, but what Malkin did was immature and deserved to be punished by the rule book.

It wouldn't have been as bad except Zetterberg seemed completely unprepared and unwilling to go. So for the first thirty seconds or so it was Malkin just wailing on Zetterberg. Hopefully the Pens can continue to play like they did in the third period last night for the rest of the series. If they can do that they will turn this into a series. If not, this may have been the flash in the pan on the way to falling flat.

If a ref calls hooking for stick on stick contact alone it is an incorrect call. Hossa lifted his stick, albeit higher than you usually see stick lifts, but that is not a penalty.

if you haven't seen a hooking penalty called for being too close to the hands of a player on his stick, then you need to watch more flyers games.

Although he did look a little overwhelmed a few times last night though, Holmstrom/Franzen (whichever 90 something faggot) beat him with that slick deke and shot, and then he awkwardly fell once I remember mentally noting.

Franzen does it to everyone. He's a big guy and looks like he couldn't stickhandle at all, but he has great moves. Homstrom on the other hand, his age is showing as are the beatings he takes in front of the crease. He screens goalies and plays in front extremely well, and draws penalties (or things that should be penalties) but doesn't shoot well or stickhandle amazingly.

Don't forget he's not that great of a skater either. He almost fucked up his left leg going hard into the boards after falling at some point in game 3. I still like him though, don't get me wrong.

Yeah the way Holmstrom went in I was not expecting him to stand up on his own power. Hopefully the Pens can even it up tonight. I'm hoping that they come out with the same momentum they finished game three with.

Yeah, it's good to see Malkin making jokes (or at least having a sense of humor, since Talbot does have bad hands) at this time of the year considering his disappearing act last year that was no doubt due to some nervousness.

It's payback for some of the shitty reffing in Games 1 and 2.
Lidstrom was just being a pussy and wouldn't go directly after the puck.
I'm sure my neighbours can hear me yelling at my TV. >.>
