I'd rather have 1 of my own and adopting as well. There are too many children in this world that need homes, not too mention overpopulation, why add to the cause.

Plus, this way I can pick out a kid that's cute... You never know if your kid is going to come out ugly or not, with adoption, at least you can eliminate that factor. I have never run into an ugly adopted kid where I live, and those little korean/phillipene/asian kids are so fucking cute I just want to steal them sometimes.

Pitt and Jolie can obviously take care of many more kids than that financially. The fact that they're adopting most of them is great, but yeah too many more is gonna have them with nannies as mother/father figures (which may not be the worst thing that could happen in the slightest).

Well, most of their children are adopted, and the issue of them being able to support the kids at least financially is pretty much non-existent, so in my mind it's not irresponsible at all. In fact, I'd even say that they're being very responsible by adopting from third-world countries rather than having their own children.

Come on man. I'm handsome, I bang hot chicks, I'm pretty sure my own kids would be attractive. It's like math. If you multiply two positive integers (substitute two hot parents), you get a positive integer. If you multiply a positive and a negative integer (substitute a hot parent and an ugly parent), you get a negative integer. If you multiply two negative integers though (two ugly parents), you get a positive integer (a hot kid?? maybe all the shovelfaces should unite!).

[Edit: My mom was 1/12, 6 boys and 6 girls, and they all seemed well-adjusted even though they grew up poor in Nashville. They weren't Catholic or anything, just too poor to afford a TV I guess. My dad is 1/3, 2 boys and 1 girl, and they all seem well-adjusted. I think I would lean towards having 2-4 kids, with the caveat of being able to financially provide for them and be present and a positive force in their lives.]

Personally, I'd be willing to have either two or three. More than three is too many (for me anyway, though I could understand, like other people have said, up to 5 in a family that can handle that), and I wouldn't really want to have just one. Having a really close sibling is irreplaceable, IMO.

Clinging to an archaic command from a non-communicative "god" that we are told is his will because it's written in a book with no references that says go forth and populate the earth is just fucking retarded. There are already too many people on this planet, each family having two kids would keep the population at a standstill, which is what needs to happen until the number gets back down to something reasonable.

People don't die anymore. Infant mortality is miniscule, diseases don't kill people, injuries don't kill people, nothing kills people now like it did 500 or 1000 or 2000 years ago. So yes, contributing to overpopulation due to some selfish desire or stubborn belief in not pulling out or using a rubber is absolutely irresponsible.

I think 3-4 is appropriate, but yeah, there's definitely a line where it becomes irresponsible, even if you can support them. People are obviously free to think what they want on the topic, but I think those folks with 8-18 kids are just ridiculous.
