    JP Windower feature

    I don't know if any of you are familiar with the JP windower but it has a rather nice feature to it. It allows you to remove all the model's skins making them a smooth white model. It virtually increases your FPS to 29fps in very crowded zones too. Does anyone who is familiar with this feature know of a possible way to replicate it in some other type of program? Possibly a stand alone program for the sole purpose of doing that. I've heard there are private programs out there that do this. I'm just looking for a way to replicate it maybe or steps id need to take to find out.

    Your best bet would be to ask this on the Windower forums. That's not to say that you won't receive a response here, but they can tell you about existing plug-ins, those in development, third-party programs they approve of, and so on.

    not that I know anything about the subject at all (I don't)... But allow me to weigh in! ^^b

    I suppose if you were really of a mind, you could swap all the char textures with a blank white image. Should achieve the same effect? Although that wouldn't alter armor and such... which would actually be kinda neat.

    //drawdistance setchar 0
    I use it in dynamis when main healing sometimes, makes things nice and less laggy.

    drawdistace set 0 does not have the same affects as those screenshots i posted. I've asked aikar about the features OP is talking about and ill see what he says.

    edit: if you git really close to a mob or just change camera from first to third person repeatedly you'll notice your character skins are still there. Char models themselves aren't the real lag problems in FF. It's the skins. Removing the skins will remove almost all the lag. Download JP windower yourself. If you do this you'll need to edit the .ini registry paths and when you run jpwindower you'll need to put in your polboot.exe's path (located in FFXI folder)
