Video signal problem with my desktop

Ok so here's the problem i'm having. When I try to start up the computer, the monitor gets no video signal despite everything being connected correctly. I do not even get a Post screen. I know for a fact that it is not the video card, since I have tried swapping in another card that I know works.

I get no video signal no matter which PCIe slot on the motherboard I put the video card into. Don't most motherboards beep during Post, when there is no video card detected? I get zero beeps on post regardless. I have tried reseating the RAM.

On startup it appears everything is working, the fans and case lights all turn on like a normal start. I just have no video.

Of note, when I built this computer I initially had the same thing happen, only just to one of the PCIe slots. The other one worked fine, and this wasnt an issue at the time when I built it since I wasnt really planning on using SLI. Now, I get the above problem no matter what PCIe slot I put the video card into.

So my only conclusion at this point is the motherboard is bad. I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas what could be wrong, before I buy a new motherboard.

    Its an Asus P5N-32E.

Stupid question, have you tried the monitor on another computer, or tried a different monitor to eliminate that as the problem?

If you're getting 0 beeps it isn't finishing post. (I think im understanding you right anyway). Try pulling the ram sticks, if you still get no beeps I'd say the motherboard is bad.

Ok, i know 100% that its not the monitor.

That pretty much just leaves the motherboard correct?

Took out both RAM sticks. Motherboard had 0 beeps during start. Looked like a normal start except for it having no RAM, and zero video signal.

    edit:

of note maybe: even when the computer was running fine i would get zero post beeps. and i still get no post beeps , even if i remove all the RAM.

    still no video signal.

    edit again:

i have also tried yanking the motherboard battery out for a few minutes and then rebooting. didnt help at all.

Ok, I finally got it to Post. Computer will only Post when RAM is installed in one single slot.

Booted up and got a CMOS check sum error. Reset CMOS to default setting.

    How do i fix this?
