I enjoyed the questing and PVP was fun albeit simplistic. I wrecked people as a Sith Marauder. Its basically spamming all your skills, backing off to your zerg when you need to or just running away when low health.

Aion was more complex! TOR is more rewarding though. You make money, PVP currency and exp through the pvp instances. So at least there's that.

    Huttball sucks btw.

I agree with most of the other people here - it will be fun to play as a KOTOR quasi-sequel. GW2 looks more appealing. TERA as well. Hell, if Aion wasn't intentionally destroyed by NCFail, I'd still play it over TOR. If Bioware can keep adding interesting story content, I'd keep playing it and the other aspects of the game (which are weaker and simplistic) would not be so bad as the 'side-game'.

Think you missed my point. To hit 50 in 3-4 days, you'd have to play over 12 hours a day and skip through all the VO's. At that point, why even bother playing this game? Sure people are going to do it, hell i used to be one of those people, but they never last. I don't see a point to it with TOR.

Completely agree with Zerocool about some type of macro system. I had more skills than i could fit on the limited 2 bars on the bottom. This is another beef i have with the lack of UI customization though. I'm not a fan of the hotbars on the side for anything other than toggles or consumables.

Alot of the abilities are redundant (cooldown wise) - use the ones improved by whatever talents you choose and ditch the rest. That's how it was for the 3 classes I played at least, didn't play any tank classes so maybe they have more situational stuff.

I'm really not worried about endgame content, because I don't really plan to do hardcore raiding anyway. I know operations are going to be very accessible, and even beta testers have killed bosses in a pug in greens on normal difficulty, so i'm pretty excited about that. And normal difficulty is on a separate lockout from hard/nightmare, so thats all the more reason to be happy about it. World bosses have made a return, so i'm pretty excited about that. Hard mode flashpoints sound pretty challenging, and even level 50 normal ones sound rather difficult, so i don't think thats gonna get done quickly at all.

With PvP the one thing im very intrigued about is the fact that to get the highest tier pvp gear you need upgrade tokens obtained from somewhere. The only place i can think where those would be obtained from is on Ilum by participating in world pvp. I find it hard to believe you would get rewarded tokens randomly in warzones. Maybe since theres no arena in pvp now i can actually enjoy it somewhat...

So between world bosses, hard mode flashpoints, 2 operation lockouts across 2 (maybe more) operations, and accessible and enjoyable pvp i'm not really worried about a lack of things to do at endgame. I can also say i plan on filling out my codex, so thats gonna take a large amount of time to do as well.

I leveled two bounty hunters one to 11(locked out from previous weekend) and another to level 38. I wanted to look at the cooldowns on some of the abilities in the other advanced class because I heard they were altered from the previous weekend and I didn't trust any information online since it was probably outdated.

With an hour and 15 minutes until servers went down I managed to take Bounty Hunter from 1-9 jamming the space-bar through all conversations. I was also at a point when the servers shut down where I could have gone to the fleet and grabbed the free 6800 XP from talking to the crew skill trainers so that coupled with playing with a friend who knows what they are doing you can probably hit 1-10 in an hour.

Anyways what I'm getting at is that you can level really fast if you know the quests.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone hit level 50 in the first 72 hours.

I enjoyed the beta. I'm actually really bored of the games I have now and I really want to play it again.

I was really confused on how the crafting system worked (not gathering and mission skills) at first, you go to an NPC and talk to them to get the skill, but no indication on how to appropriately select your skills so you're not wasting your time on an irrelevant gathering skill.

The codex actually tells you exactly what crew skills complement each other, and goes so far as to say what missions in mission skills help that profession.

I have to admit that I was definitely spacebaring a lot of the quest dialogue, but that was mainly because I had subtitles turned on so I would just space bar as soon as I finished reading that bit of dialogue. In regards to the UI and macro system, I really hope they allow custom macros and whatnot for abilities. For example, being able to create a macro to do a mouseover of the Intervene-type ability at the end of the Jedi Guardian's tank tree would be godlike, much better than manually targeting a party member to cast.

I'm absolutely stoked for this game, I don't think I've played the hell out of any MMO beta this much since WoW's closed beta back in 2004. I made more than a few people in my EQ guild mad since I would skip raids just to play it more, lol.

Right here with you. I am not able to log into another MMO or other game for more than 5 min without being bored (sans Arkham City ) cannot wait for this game to come out !

Not really sure how I feel about Huttball, personally. It can be really fun if you get a team that knows wtf they're doing. But if you get stuck with a bunch of retards that stand in a corner trying to 1v1 and shit instead of trying the run the ball, yeah it can be the most frustrating thing. I do like the hazards in the area though, as I feel it adds more of a tactical feel. It's so fun knocking people into the acid pits or stunning them on top of a fire vent. I'd like to see more warzones with these kind of traps and things. Hopefully they have this kind of stuff in open world PvP too.

No, I totally got your point, I think you missed mine. There are people who see hitting level cap faster than most players as a way to get a serious advantage for the rest of their "career" in the game, and because of that will do whatever it takes to hit cap as fast as possible. For example, in Aion there were at least 4 characters on Siel getting leveled by 3-4 people each taking 8 hour shifts, in order to take advantage of higher level crafting drops as well as fort caps giving their guild an edge on getting pvp gear faster.

No idea about the economical advantages in TOR from hitting cap first (though I guarantee there are at least a few), but from what I experienced over this past weekend the team with the most high levels usually wins scenarios (based not only on ability advantage but experience as well). More 50s > better chance to win > More money, and faster PvP gear. Right there's a big enough incentive for those motivated to motor through the grind as fast as possible, saying "Fuck the story. that's what alts are for."

Dead on the money in that last sentence. And yeah, higher levels in PvP gives you a huge advantage, even though everyone gets scaled to 50. We were effectively three manning entire waves of enemy players at 35+ since we had most of our abilities unlocked. Guardians having 3 interrupts (Stasis, Push, Kick) + Force Leap + Saber Throw is freaking GG against lowbies without most of their abilities.

Basically if you played last week, do not uninstall the client. They are patching it up to early release. So for people who pre-ordered, no need to download the client before playing actual release !

If you played the weekend beta of 11-11-11 you'll see TOR is taking up 36 gigs, that "patch" that happened for this past weekend didn't overwrite anything, it just used up more space. Impossible to know what isn't used anymore, so anybody who didn't install TOR for the first time this past weekend needs to reinstall.

Amen lol. A few weeks ago I was just starting to get back into XIV again, and bam, d3 beta arrived. A week later swtor beta arrived. Just got back on XIV and feel like -.- I just want to play swtor.... D3 isn't even interesting, but that's because the beta is so easymode and short.

I can't believe this never occurred to me before... >< I can totally see the validity.

Personally, I don't see much incentive at all to rush to 50 in this game. The story is the main selling point in this game, and I doubt there will really be an advantage to being one of the first to cap. All the best gear will come from raiding. The only thing I can see is for bragging rights, and maybe getting PvP geared up before most to have that advantage in PvP.

But I'd rather have a level 50 character that I'm immersed and invested in rather than a level 50 "toon" that I couldn't give a damn about. That's not to say I don't think there will be people that will do it just because they can though. But I have a feeling most of those people will be long gone from the game by the time the majority of players get to that level.

If they put PVP stats on raiding gear, this game will be immediately written off in my book.
