You're absolutely right. I tried it for RIFT. Really made no difference.
Was just hoping I'd be able to see some more organized open world pvp events set up between both sides.

They have stated on the beta forums months back that they will not be having GM's run in game events of any kind due to the sheer number of staff it would take to have it happen at the same time on the large number of planed servers. So will be stuck with player run events where no one will listen and be chaos just like every day ganking.
Ok, dumb question.
Updater all done and when I follow the link to activate the account subscription, it just takes me to the general SW page. Don't see anything in my account page. Is this because I have to receive my early access date first? (perhaps a code or something comes with it)
Not sure what code you mean, but we won't get our official game codes until around the 20th when the game officially launches and we pay for it. If you already submitted your pre-order code though, you should be good to go for early access.
I was only 45 when the final beta ended so was way under leveled for it and couldn't damage other lv50's there so wasn't much fun for me. If you didn't know the big reason PvP between high level and lower level players is an issue isn't cause of a stat difference there is a system in place that pretty much stops you from hitting mob or players 5 levels over you.
Attacking a player or mob 1-3 levels higher then you you do full damage and have full accuracy attacking someone or something 4 levels higher your accuracy drops to 50% 5 levels higher it drops down to 10-15% by 9-10levels higher you can beat on them all day while they laugh at you. Meaning even if you get a large group taking down a player just 5 levels over you becomes a problem 7-8 levels over you and you might as well log out and hope they don't camp where you logged at waiting for you.
yeah we pretty much do that later next week
from the early access FAQ:
If I pre-order Star Wars: The Old Republic but don’t purchase or obtain the full version of the Game, may I continue to play past the Early Game Access period?
The Game officially launches on December 20th, 2011 at 12:01AM EST (Pacific: December 19th, 9:01PM PST; European: December 20th, 05:01AM GMT, 06:01AM CET). There will be no ‘grace period’ post launch in which those who are in Early Game Access will be able to continue to play the Game without completing the following required steps for launch:
1. Fill out your contact information
2. Set up minimum 3 - maximum 5 security questions to protect your SWTOR account
3. Redeem a Product Registration Code (This is different from your Pre-Order Code. Your Product Registration Code is the code tied to the official Game.)
4. Sign up for a recurring subscription or enter a Pre-Paid Game Time Code
You will have the option of completing these steps during the Early Game Access period so that you are ready to play upon the Game’s official launch.
Thanks Vrumpt. Everyone here is so helpful I don't bother with the official forums much, heh >.>;
The official forums are a nightmare and now that they gave 750k people beta forum access its just as bad maybe worse with all these kids feeling superior cause they got into the weekend tests thinking their special and extra deserving. The "what do we get for beta testing" threads went threw the roof once they let everyone in they all want special titles and in game items to show off its ridicules.
This sounds terrible. I went through the official forums to take a look at feedback regarding open world pvp and have found the same complaints from past game releases. I may just reconsider my server choice now that it seems there's really not much reward for open world pvp until at least 50? And Ilum will be the same on a PvE server as it is on PvP no?
I just redeemed my preorder code.
I honestly didn't know we had to input it ourselves. Assumed it was done internally. So there goes any chance of early access unless my petition via their contact page has any effect.
I should mention I actually preordered within a few hours of the announcement at ComicCon.
Ive only really played on the PvP servers hence all the horror story's so am not 100% ilum works exactly the same but it seems to be the case and if it is the only thing we loss playing a pve sever vs pvp is the open world ganking as the good pvp is still available. The only real difference I could tell between the PvP server and PvE(the lvl42 premades they gave us to test endgame where on PvE server) is that on the PvP server anytime open world PvP is available you get auto flagged for it and on PvE so you don't but have the option to flag yourself. So a player run PvP event on a PvE server would run more smoothly then on a PvP server I would suspect as you don't need to worry about people starting early while setting up you just have everyone flag themselves at the same time.
So what was the file needed to patch up to final? How do I know i'm patched up? D:
I believe they said to uninstall and redownload the whole thing.
Thank you for your participation in the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Game Testing Program. In preparation for the game's official release, if you are receiving this email, you must uninstall the game-testing client before installing the launch game client.
How to uninstall the game test client
1. Click on the Start bar and open up your "Control Panel."
2. Under "Programs" select "Uninstall a Program" (Windows 7) or "Add or Remove Programs" (Windows XP).
3. Select "Star Wars – The Old Republic."

5. Follow all the uninstall steps to remove the game from the PC.
6. Make sure the following directories no longer exists (or are empty):
• C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars – The Old Republic

To verify that you have the launch version installed, you can check for the "assets_swtor_main" version file in the following location on your computer: \Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars – The Old Republic (assuming default installation). If you have that file present, you do not need to reinstall the game client.
Personally I did a full install. It took about 2 hours.
Yeah fuck a brother. Going to let that download in the background.
I'm rolling as a Guardian. ANYONE WANT TO ORGANIZE A REPUBLIC BG GUILD PM ME
Also anyone with a beta client installed after Nov. 25 "can" update to the launch version though I would recommend a clean install. The last two times they allowed us to patch to a new build it left me with a double then triple install of the game I wiped it and did a clean install for the final test build and it updated fine but after all the issues I have had I think it was just a fluke that it didn't screw up.
