Where are the vendors that sell upgrades for your ship at?

I bought all my stuff on Tatooine, the vendor is usually in the very first building when you get to a planet. If you go outside, you've gone too far. I'll show you in game later if you haven't found it yet

Various places, found on a select few planets at their main market area (Corellia and Taris comes to mind). In addition, the Imperial/Republic Fleets both have their ship vendors located in the AH wing.

crafting question. I know you can spam a green recipe to get a blue version of it, if you spam a blue recipe will you get a purple version?

For Artifice at least, spamming the recipe doesn't get you a blue version. Reverse engineering items you make with green recipes gives a chance to learn an upgraded blue version, and reverse engineering the blue version gives a chance to learn the purple ones.

ya that's what I meant. I have all the blue versions for the teir 1, wasn't sure if I should waste time trying to get purples or not. (I'm a completionist)

for crafting items (not missions) you can click up to 5 items and he'll do them in a row and keep sending them as he finishes.

You can. There are also variants of a recipe you can get through RE, so just cuz you RE a blue and get a purple recipe there may be other purple recipies from the same blue.

I RE'd this into a Critical Combat Synth Leggings and an Overkill Combat Synth Leggings. Both have the same armor/end/will (higher than the green) but but the former has +8crit and the latter has +8power. I did not get both at the same time, the second was a complete accident

I hope the server status page gets fixed. In Aion you could see when the server was coming up. For SW, it's down when the server is down. The entire SW website shuts down when there's a maintenance!

The best part is the in game message says to check the SWTOR forums for updates but it's down when the maintenance actually happens, lol.
