Some people in my guild are happy with PvP changes. Apparently there is a guild on the republic side that groups up all day every day for PvP and consumable stacks. It's pretty much impossible to get your daily done as an imperial right now thanks to them. Guildies are a little bit more confident that they can destroy them now that they can't stack the consumables anymore.

only if that's what you care about. I never said ruin was the best pvpers, we are the best world pvpers. and this may come as a shocked to you but some people like to do world pvp, and there aren't exactly a lot of guilds out there who organize shit for that.

I like being in a big ass organized group fighting a war.

I like the small shit too but guess what? when you have 2000+ people in your guild it's pretty easy to find a group that's good to organize wz/area/pve/etc. premades. That can be done within the guild,

Whereas if you're in a small guild you can't generate organization for the build world pvp shit.

A single guild having the numbers to fight an entire faction and decimate them may not be something to be proud of but is a feat to behold.

Although Ilum on my server is like 9 republic to seeming hundreds of Imperials, the Warzones have changed completely. Since the 50 bracket is now in effect I just did 10 in a row without my friends just full pug and we (Republic) only lost 1. I noticed at the start of all the matches they start up 5 to 8 in favor of the Empire but as soon as we fill up it seems to go pretty smooth. Seemed like before the Republic teams would be 2 or 3 50's (If we were lucky) and 5 people level 13 and the imperial team would be the opposite with all 50's minus 1 or 2. Now that the levels are more even we've actually been winning.

"First" day of PVP on Hedarr Soongh has been interesting; Imps absolutely dominating Repubbies on Illum. Yes, Dailies/Weeklies will be tougher, but its much more PVP-orientated than that walker bullshit

I have yet to see one video or ss of someone killing a turret and getting all that valor. I have seen a literal ton of videos/ss of republic players getting raped yes. There are also plenty of posts in that thread where people have said 'Hey morons you don't get anything but legacy xp and maybe a blue from turrets'.

Hmm...I wonder if that's because the valor notification doesn't not source, only incoming valor. Unless I'm missing it in the giant stream of "+20 valor. +40 bonus valor." or whatever.

Edit: Dev's just stated that no valor from turrets.

400+ valor in about a minute, and nothing is being done to those that exploited the bug. Sweet.

Hello everyone; I wanted to update you on the issues we’ve been seeing today on the live servers, specifically within the Open World PvP area on Ilum. We’re aware that on some servers, either Republic or Empire groups have been capturing the Ilum control points, entering the enemy’s base and ‘camping’ the medcenters, preventing the opposite faction from leaving their base to recapture control points. This is not a fair or balanced gameplay experience and can also severely affect client performance, so we’re taking steps to address this.

Our intended design for Ilum Open World PvP is that players are instantly killed when entering the enemy’s base safe area, just like in Warzones, and that the defending faction can take taxis to other points within the zone. As of Game Update 1.1, this is not working as intended. We have found the issue preventing this from happening under server load and will be publishing an Emergency Patch to address the issue. We’re aiming to have this patch published early tomorrow morning (January 19th, 5 AM US CST).

In addition to these changes, we’ll be reducing the population cap on Ilum. This should help increase performance by requiring your client to render fewer characters on-screen at once.

Regarding Valor gains, with the 1.1 update, players now receive a base reward of 20 Valor per unique enemy player defeated in a short time, and this base reward is modified by the number of objectives that the player’s faction owns. The gains are rate limited per player killed, encouraging players to attack unique players, not to pursue vendettas. The Valor gains players can see over time will vary greatly depending on the activity level in the zone. This is expected.

To dispel a couple of rumors that have been seen today – there is no Valor gain from destroying turrets within enemy bases, and none from killing NPCs.

We encourage players to avoid Ilum until our patch is deployed. As a temporary measure we will be disabling taxi services which would normally take players into the Open World PvP area. However, players will still be able to taxi out of the area.

We will continue to monitor Ilum across all servers and will make further changes to gameplay if required. We welcome your feedback here on the Forums, but please ensure your feedback is constructive and specific. Feedback based on rumor does not help us isolate potential issues.

Expecting rollbacks, but if they don't do it I won't be sad. Went from valor rank 39 to 63 so far today. Mostly did all that eating nachos and watching movies. Some servers it isn't as good but we have hundreds of bodies to farm.

Does anyone else have a companion glitch where a note will appear on their icon (bottom left screen) saying they want to talk in private or on the ship, but then when you try to do so its just the normal auto dialogue? When I run around the Fleet station that happens from time to timw w/Kira Carsen. Lets say it pops up near the AH, otw to the cantina it vanishes. I am assuming a glitch, yeah?

Yeah, I get this a lot. To save you from wasting time going back to ship/cantina to check it, you can just right-click the companion. They'll always say something about wanting to talk first if there actually is a new quest/conversation, while if the icon is bugging they'll just say normal generic right-click stuff.
