So I'm reading the PTR notes. I don't see anything about the only major gameplay issue (Abilities not going off, animations overriding button pressing)
I was in a warzone today and was spamming to put up Stim Boost (I had JUST Shiv'd someone so TA was up, possibly even double-stacked). I spammed for a full 3 seconds. Nothing.
Try reading again.
Fixed a bug that could cause the Global Cooldown to appear as if it has been cancelled when it is actually still in effect, resulting in a feeling of unresponsiveness to input.
Corrected an issue that could cause an ability icon to appear usable but be unresponsive to clicks or keypresses for several seconds.
Still doesn't address the defense issue. Where the reflect/dodge/parry animiations are clipping/canceling and stalling moves that are cast.
Hopefully they get around to fixing Ravage... Marauder's 3s channel, it doesn't work half the time, but the animation will always go off regardless. The problem with the animation, though, is that you can't move when it's going off if it's bugged. You basically stun yourself.
Anyone on Republic side have a guild that I can put an alt in? I probably wont be on it a ton but doing the same fkn story on Empire side is fucking boring.
Ability delay is still there but it's substantially better now. I FRAPsed around 20 minutes of random gameplay and I think I only really experienced it 6-7 times during those 20 minutes (constant combat):

Most noticeable fails are at the 4:58 minute mark (I try to Merciless Slash/Annihilate + trinket but you see my character begin the animation for it and it just stutters and doesn't fire) and 17:27 (you can see me spamming Inspiration/Bloodthirst and it simply doesn't fire for 6+ keypresses). All in all, I'm pretty happy. Most of those fights would have had at least one or two abilities fail to fire pre-patch.
That aside, Georg posted this in the ability delay thread not too long ago:
As you guys have noticed (and probably read in the patch notes), one major part of our series of ability delay improvements was patched onto the live servers with the maintenance last night (patch 1.1.0b). We decided that the improvements seen with this fix were significant enough for us to roll this patch out as quickly as possible instead of waiting for the next scheduled patch.
Your feedback from the servers so far indicates that this change has had dramatic, positive impact on combat gameplay.
That said, we're not done improving combat responsiveness!
As mentioned in my blog a few days ago, there are some additional fixes currently on our public test server as part of patch 1.1.1, which will roll out as soon as we're satisfied with that patch.
We've heard your mixed feedback regarding the new cooldown animation that was part of patch 1.1, and we have improvements to the readability of that UI coming down the pipe.
We're looking into improving the accuracy of cast bars. Their behavior should already be significantly improved with today's patch, but we believe there is still room to improve.
We're also working on improvements to the responsiveness of individual ability animations, including faction specific timing differences and issues where shortening an ability activation time does not properly shorten it's animation.
Again, thank you for your constructive feedback on this issue, it has been vital to us in identifying and resolving this situation.
Regards
Georg
Now just give the axe to Sorcs and it's a step in the right direction.
Combat is definitely improved, bravo bioware
They fixed the garbage where you'd mash an ability and your character would spaz out and not do anything. The underlying problem is still there, combat is still clunky. At least he's acknowledged the specific problems RE: ability animations.
Anyone heard of any resolutions to the credit card problem yet? The game sounds fixed enough for me to at least dick around with for awhile, so I might be ready to take the plunge.
Someone on the forums was talking about it a few pages back. Tried to play the game, paid via CC and there was an error and they couldn't actually play the game.
Yeah I think the problem was with the billing itself, not the purchasing of the game. Personally, I haven't had a problem with either one though.
I'm 43 Sage, 23 Scoundrel right now. I know nothing about Ilum and what people are talking about when they're yelling about it. What happens on Ilum (if it makes a difference I'm on a PvE server) and what's the big deal?
Anyone have a 15ish Empire character on Garden(s) of Talla (sp?)
