I'm actually on the official forums all the time. So many goodies there. As far as posters there is actually about 75% of people on the forums hate the game. It's pretty awesome :D

Well good thing for BW is that 75% of the total of people that post on the official forums make up less than 1% of the total player base.

I'm glad I'm passed the days of getting Max level and end game asap. That shit ruins any MMO for anyone.

This, I feel like when people rush to get to max levels and end game, they get burnt out on the game and end up being part of the hating population. I grinded the shit out of my Merc, got all the end game gear, and am bored as hell. So, I started a SORC and have been taking my time leveling him, its much more enjoyable

I didn't rush at all. This game handed level 50 to me on a silver fucking platter.

Getting to cap level in less than a month I would be considered rushing. Not to mention burning through all current content, moreso.

On that note: I think MMO gamers in general to the realization that there will never be a perfect game and just need to enjoy their time playing. If you hate the game, you are either doing it wrong or that game is not for you.

This is SWTOR you're talking about here. You can literally play 2 hours a night and hit level cap easily in under a month. The whole "stop rushing to 50 hurrdurr" defense had merit in December, started getting stale in January, and is completely retarded now in February. You have a tremendous amount of bugs in endgame content that has yet to be fixed two months after launch. You also have weekly patches that causes even more bugs because it's never fully tested. Why? Because Bioware, in their infinite wisdom, opened a PTR server with no character transfer service nor character premades. Patches simply don't get tested enough. Simply look at the past month; how many emergency maintenance have been performed following a weekly patch because of something said patch fucked up?

While doing everything it takes roughly 120 hours of game time to get to 50. This includes standing around doing nothing on the fleet for a few hours ever now and then when trying to do FPs.

This shit isn't FFXI back in the day. There just isn't that much content, you will get to 50 in a few weeks if you only log in a couple of times a week.

And it's also a weak excuse to say that if you want to play a game you shouldn't play it as much. What kind of fucking backward reasoning is that?

I kind of miss games that made you were to get to cap. XI took that way too much to the extreme but it was still the most fun I've had leveling in a while.

I'd have never had a problem with XI's leveling if, you know, I spent the entire time leveling. It wasn't the fighting itself that was the problem, it was the lack of mobs, the terrible job disparity and the difficulty of finding quality camps for all of the people that wanted to XP at a given time.

I never said you shouldn't play it much, but these games are designed for the majority of the player base, you know the casuals. You are expecting too much and just leading yourself to disappointment. This is not just star wars based this is every current generation MMO.

Btw FFXI had on expansion out and the level cap was 70/75 by the time of NA release. So it had tons of content added by the time it reached us. This will hopefully for some people out there be the same for Tera.

Still took longer to get 1-50 in XI(even during just the original game) than 1-100 would take in TOR.

It took some people years just to get to 75! Then again, end game didn't essentially = 75 and nothing else. Hurray abjurations

I think I got 75 on Paladin in about 7-8 months. Man, 4k XP an hour was top notch back then. Then weapons made 10k/hr the best. Then 40k/hr. Then w/e the hell you get in abyssea lol.

I'm just pointing out that games from here on out will never be like the Everquest (FFXI) style. Mainly because the grinds extremely rough due to just mob grinding. Current generation that are being made are following the quest leveling design, leveling on a silver platter as some have you pointed out. And as mentioned before they are designed for majority of players not the minority, which include a people of this forum.

But you're basically telling people not to play the game... Or at least originally you were.

I miss my ridill war weapons burn parties. I had the second NA ridill on my server (2004 summer). I remember all those old BG vies when they first started doing ground kings. Lujan was my hero D:

FFXI was so much fun during that period. No other MMO I've played has been as enjoyable/memorable.

Oh, I am sorry. I forgot, games are shit now, and you shouldn't have high expectations at all, even though that is all they do before the game is launched is fucking hype how unique and snow-flake like their game is, and then it launches and it's a sub-par MMO that we are expected to accept as the gift of god but have to wait for things to get fixed all over the place and if we don't then we are just impatient elitists.

Rift's launch destroyed SWTOR's. It's plain and simple to see that. The only thing keeping SWTOR going right now are casuals that don't know better and apologists.

Sorry about the rant like nature of this post, but at what point are people going say "Hey this isn't living up to the hype, they really need to fix things." You never ever get a launch of an MMO back, it really has to be perfect and even if it is (Rift's was pretty close) it doesn't guarantee anything.
