Valor was never meant to mean much. besides there has been so much shit with valor that it means shit anyway. All the people who bitch about 'real' bm before Ilum had it easy beating on <50's when they all had ton of expertise, then came Ilum which was a shit storm. The only people who have 'real' BM valor would have had to start after brackets and never touch Ilum.

The only real "shit" with valor was the empire exploit when the turrets weren't working properly. Everything else, I'm pretty sure I have more success in WZs post-patch than from "beating up 50s" and no one ever went to Ilum anyway

you may not have, but I am over the people who were BM before ilum trading and now complain. Yes the turrets should have insta-gibbed but didn't (I really hope you are talking about that, I still find people who think they gave out tons of valor). Not sure about your server but there was a large amount of trading (still is on certain days) on my server.

Either way I am fine with valor being a 'hey look how much I pvp' and the rewards coming from ranked matches.

I was talking about the exploit where the turrents didn't do anything, and the empire on a bunch of servers just spawn camped the republic base and basically got handed free valor all the way up to 60.

And I get the best gear coming from ranked matches, but making people grind out valor and then be like "lol jk people can buy this shit for free next patch and valor means zilch" is just terrible for a game that's bleeding subs

Probably not. I think part of the issue is though that people are migrating to other servers. I have 0 idea how many subs they have but they just released in 3-4 new zones. 1.2 will probably keep people until that is at least released. I don't really know the future of the game because people like myself who aren't overly into ALTs due to how the leveling is done in the game is setup and end game is currently WAY too easy or completely impossible to beat due to bugs.

What are you talking about? They are currently accessible to the entire player base. You don't have to do 16 man ops to get the best PVP loot, you just have to grind for it. Suddenly making the grind irrelevant and replacing it with a new grind out of nowhere just serves to piss off the people who went through it already.

What exactly is your fucking point? Every time a new tier of gear comes out, it makes the old tier irrelevant. Welcome to MMO's that are not FFXI.

The change is making the future tier of gear MORE accessible by eliminating the requirement for a terrible valor grind that nobody wanted. The devs listened and decided to change focus with how they want the future tiers of pvp gear to be obtained. You aren't even a Battlemaster, currently you can't even obtain the best set of pvp gear (less accessible, get it?). With the changes, you will be able to. How is that not a win/win for you? If you just want to mindlessly grind for the best gear, I don't really know what to say.. you are the vocal minority. People don't want to invest 6+ hours a day to PVP to gear up for PVP. If your grinding because you think grind=status, guess what, you can still grind valor! You will have a shiny title like War Hero or Conqueror and you can flex your status that way.

My point is that valor was always fucking stupid and this should have been done AGES AGO and not now, out of the blue. It's like hey, maybe they should tell people that valor is going away and you shouldn't bother grinding it anymore. Also, this is not my first MMO, if your defense is seriously "its a new tier of gear, welcome to mmos!" it doesn't make any sense. It's the timing of this that makes it stupid, not the fact that they're making a new tier of loot. Again, it has NOTHING to do with status, loot progression, or anything like that. It's that I feel like my time invested has been arbitrarily made worthless because they couldn't get their shit straight the first time.

2m copies solid, 1.7m subs (includes trials) and only 1.3 paid subs, draw your own conclusions I guess. Maybe "bleeding" was the wrong word.

So what would make you feel like your time investment wasn't completely worthless? You got PVP gear presumably that you've been using to PVP? I'm at a loss on how to please you. As for timing, Yes they fucked up the valor system hard, but when is ever a good time to bring out a change like this? So while you agree the valor system is stupid, you are arguing that they should have done it sooner (pointless, the past is the past) or they should delay it even more?

They also gave heads up that the valor system was not going to be the way that future pvp gear was going to be obtained prior to the guild summit. So I'm not sure what to tell you.

New Warhero gear's mods put into new crit crafted orange gear with augment slot is supposed to be BiS after 1.2. Warhero apparently will only come from rated wzs.

After reading it looks like if you do the free weekend then you cannot also do the free 7 day trial. I'm guessing you can get around this with a 2nd account?
