Surprised that game was still generated revenues. Thought it was closed down ages ago
There's no reason to have good content/combat exclusive from a good character creator.
Well, the thing about character creator is that even after launch it can still be expanded on. All they really need to do is implement an in game "barber". Or call up your Jedi friend and tell them to bring their Lightscalpel if you need a facelift. I'm sure they just haven't implemented all the customization options either. But who knows really. Guess we'll have to see what happens at launch.
Q&A #9 is up. Bunch of repeat questions or ones we already knew answers to, and some of his info is inaccurate, such as the Bounty Hunter advanced classes he mentions.

and a video! E3 highlights reel
Bioware released a new video, some highlights of the story mission "Battle of Alderaan"
my body isnt ready
Apparently, SOE only had the license for SW world games until 2012 and LA, seeing SWTOR on the Horizon didn't really care about SWG at all.
Anyway, I'm quite surprised how the game is shaping up now. Before I treated it like some garbage not worth my time (especially since I'm now even a huge SW fan), but seeing new screens and reading about experiences and how the game changed... it actually gives hope. Too bad too many new/good p2p games always mean you have to pick something.
Wow SWG going down....
Screenshot dump on betacake. not bringing them here since idk how much Bioware cares about it.

Also in the comments section somebody posted a screen of the updated character creator.
Obviously quite an improvement. Just shows the importance of waiting until something is done to judge it. Unfinished game is unfinished. So looking at the old build, from the leaked screenshot, we have the follows:
4 Body Types
7 Scars
23 Compexions
6 Eye Colors
6 Face Paints
20 Hair Styles
6 Hair Colors
7 Skin Colors
Note: There is no facial hair in this build, however this could be because of the species or gender.New build, throwing this in for comparison:
4 Body Types
15 Head Shapes
17 Scars
40 Complexions
10 Facial Hairs
8 Face Paints
44 Hair Styles
15 Hair Colors
36 Skin Colors (...That is alot of skin colors O_O)
So from the old build it would have been exactly: 19,474,560 Character Combinations, which has been signifantly added to.
From the new build though, lets say we want to focus on only the primary features that stand out, so we can see how many "unique" different combinations there are. For this, I'm going to only focus on:
Head Shape, Body Type, Complexion, Hair Style, Hair Color, Skin Color.
For the new build that gives us exactly 570,024,000 "unique" character combinations. Suffice
to say I think there will be enough options.
Dear god I cannot wait for this game.
Heres a well written hands-on post about the game.

important part
Currently, there are no options to adjust graphics. So when you first start playing, your initial impression is very good, you still see jaggies, and some textures seem a bit muddy but the overall feel and look is still impressive. The art direction on the other hand, is as good as a Blizzard game if not better.
However, since graphical options are not in-game, you can go into your videocard's control panel and force them. Which I did.
This takes SWTOR from, awesome art-direction/average graphical fidelity, to IMO, the best looking MMO made to date. Once you have AA and AF enabled, the textures become so crisp and clear, the models smooth out and it starts to look absolutely beautiful. The art-style lends it self so well, because it just looks how it should. I don't know how else to describe it.
Either he was paid to write that or he is such a geeky fanboy that his comments are invalid. Graphics aren't bad for having no graphical filters. But forcing AA/AF doesn't add ground clutter, doesn't add HQ textures, doesn't add volume to otherwise bland landscapes, ect... It makes what is already there look better by taking away the jaggies. But it doesn't make the game go from average graphics (w/ no options) to WTF OMG SUCH AMAZING IT BLOWS MY MIND. It just makes it look the same, but crisper. Whatever that hands-on post guy was smoking, give me some of that.
The game will obviously look better when the filters are added, nobody will deny that, but unless he is playing some super secret version that has better graphical default options then everyone else.. then he is full of shit. My comp blows most out of the water and there is nothing I can't play on the highest settings and get 50-60+ FPS. So my opinion isn't coming from some scrub comp
Yeah I just picked up a second 560ti for SLI so hopefully they'll add more options to really push my hardware so I can get the most out of it.
game options existing without an in-game method of turning them on isn't unheard of, hell FFXIV had a hardware mouse option in beta if you looked for it in the right spot.
Yeah I think Rift didn't even have a lot of the advanced graphic options up until one of the last betas. They've even added a few more since release as well. So I'm sure we'll see more added closer to launch.
not to such an extent as I stated above. It's not that they are there and just locked, it's that they aren't in-game yet. When they want to it will be a huge patch to add all the textures, ect.. in. And using XIV as an example is terrible TERRABLE. can't compare anything to that piece of shit and the terrible coding
