If you look at it from the perspective of a playing a single character, I imagine it will be similar to other bioware games, when you add everything together, IE. class quests, group quests, general solo quests, instances, etc. But when you reroll an alt on the same faction, everything is going to be a repeat except the class quests, and I can't imagine those make up the majority of the leveling experience.
At that point its the same as every other Bioware game, where you can replay the game, and its the same game, only this time you can make different choices along the way and play it differently than the last time you played, which is why those single player games have so much replayability. So then you'll only possibly see some crossover in the world arc if you roll a different class, and everything else is different because of the class story. In any other MMO replaying through the same area again and again is a chore, but this isn't like any other MMO. I haven't heard of anybody in the beta whos taken multiple classes up high enough to see where cross overs in the story lie aside from flashpoints.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out, and seeing how big of an impact the choices make on your character and the story.
preordered this.. woo

Panel over. few good nuggets of info, but alot has been said already. Some good peices of info.
James talks about companion characters; they are integral part of BioWare games. Can change companion weapons and outfits. Now we can cusotmize companions looks, and gives example of skin color change. Then teases in a few weeks that we customize the ai of the companions a la dragon age. Depth of control as well. They'll be testing and talking about it soonOhlen: Right now 19 major worlds, an undetermined number of other minor worlds. We eventually want dozens, even hundreds of worlds."When can we play the game" said Dallas
4:26 A couple answers
4:26 "We're doing large beta testing weekends in September, sign up on swtor.com"
4:26 HUGE numbers of people will play then.
4:27 "If we're letting in huge numbers of people for beta testing weekends, that implies we'll be releasing the game soon"
4:27 Reid says "Yes, Beta weekends in September. Now our Release Window Target is Holiday 2011."

Wow, the CE sold out? Looked like overpriced junk to me. So end of year release... Wonder which will be first, swtor or tera. I think w/e is released first will be a big thing. And about the large beta weekend things... I wouldn't be surprised if those testers are separated from the other testers as which is usually done
Even though I'd personally never buy the CE at that price myself, I'm not surprised it's doing well. I knew the big Star Wars fans would jump all over that.
from what i gather that statue isn't a worthless piece of junk. Gentle Giant is apparently known for making pretty quality stuff, so it'll be a very nice piece. It'll make up the 70 dollar price difference alone i think, then you have everything else they've included with the CE, and you actually have a package thats worth the price tag, and probably a better value than what the deluxe edition provides.
There isn't anything about any other MMO coming out this year that is going to hurt SWTOR, or even has a chance at hurting it if you think about it in a direct sense like that. GW2 will be nice when it comes out because of the f2p thing, so you can play that side by side a subscription game, which is what i'll probably do. Any other game is going to attract those audiences that appeal to them; nobody else. SWTOR is going to be amazing, and once people get in and see what it actually is, word of mouth will consume any doubters who think its just another crappy wow-clone.
GW2 and Tera will both release after SWTOR, giving it the chance to take the prize, or be another who/rift/aoc.
No one can say how "amazing" it will be in the long term, since no one has seen any endgame. A nice leveling experience/story doesn't necessarily equate to quality raids, class/pvp balance, frequent content updates, etc.
Which is why I assume the questing and story will be good, but nothing Bioware has done in the past, or that they've shown us in swtor as of yet speaks to how good the endgame could be, or how much resources they're devoting to adding content post-release.
questing and story is fantastic (talking from experience), but that says nothing about end game w/will prolly be a typical mmo raid experience w/ story mixed in
God I hope not but it sounds like thats what it will be from one of the Q&A panels today, James Ohlen kinda dodged a question on endgame topic. We'll see whats fun to do in endgame when people reach it, since nobody has at this point. Not gonna feel bad if they can't come up with anything epic or original since nobody else can either, aside from maybe GW2 using dynamic content as a means to an end.
also the game isn't finished, and i'm reading some shaky infos on what else is in the PvE endgame besides raiding. we'll see what happens
