Check your statements to make sure its accurate. I only deposited $5 for the deluxe edition. I wonder when they'll allow us to pay the rest off? I'd rather have it out of the way then to wait for the release date.

PVP looks just like everything else(not surprised since people said that it was basically a wow clone as far as attacking/moving goes). But I think most people will actually be getting it for the story and not for the action. But at some point they're going to need to make sure that combat is interesting and entertaining or else it's going to flop once you eventually get through the story.

That's a bit of an erroneous assumption; something doesn't have to have unique combat to do extremely well. WoW's combat is clearly interesting and entertaining, or it wouldn't be the most popular MMO ever.

I didn't say it wasn't going to be. I just said that it needs to be.

I'm 100% fine with them copying WoW's combat down to the very basics. I'm more concerned if there's going to be enough level cap content to hold people over for the first 3 months, since I'm assuming that the content cycle for TOR will be slightly longer than the average MMO due to everything being voiced.

One of the things my friend said he was annoyed with was the selection of answers for EVERY single thing. Not just light/dark questions. How do others feel about it? Does it effect the light/dark answers or do they all end up being the same regardless of the previous answers and only the final/important ones matter?

Sid Meier gave a speech at GDC a little over a year ago, where he talked about the 'psychology of game design' (among other things).

I think one of the things he said that stood out, was that most of the game-play of a good game will take part in our imaginations. Most of this game will take part in players' imaginations. So even if it ends up being a WoW clone (not necessarily bad) or heavily derivative of WoW or not-adding-anything-particularly-blah-blah with respect to combat, it's still going to end up with the emphasis being 'Star Wars' doing all that cookie-cutter-whatever. That context might make whatever otherwise perceived blandness seem insignificant.

That doesn't mean it can't possible be a bad game, but I think it's shaping up to be 'good enough' where the 'rest of' the game will be played in the player's mind.

Well Star Wars is a gold mine. And it lacked a solid development team (shut up I know about Galaxies). Its the perfect time to release it to be honest. WoW has peaked its interest. Clones are being welcomed [as long as its interesting]. Game development has come a long way. An MMO based in the timeline that made KotOR successful instead of the god awful timeline of I-III or some stupid comic canon that only nerds read. A story that we were actually interested in (Revan, Malak, etc).

Galaxies release was a perfect set up for SWTOR. It was around the same time as WoW, it was obviously outpaced (and rightfully so) by WoW, and proved that if you throw a bunch of shit together and put Star Wars elements to it, it will sell like the Prequel movies.

But I really hope that this is released after Skyrim. I NEED TO BE A DRAGON SLAYER TOO

Thats really awesome that they were able to come up with that in a months time frame. For those unaware, that land speeder is the result of complaints of the segway speeder they showed off at E3. So because everybody hated that they went and took another look at their plans for vehicles, and changed them to reflect what people wanted. The result is badass speeder bikes and land speeders for high levels.
