When they release new content (COP namely), it was retardedly hard
When they release new content (COP namely), it was retardedly hard
CoP wasn't hard even before all the patches. nothing in FFXI was hard except for retarded requirements time-wise.
let's talk more about SWToR!
VGChartz preorder tracker for the US alone has SWTOR at about 440k Preorders already and gaining 30-40k every week. Star Wars IP is a huge draw.
Wouldn't be surprised if they sell 3.5-4mil in NA/Euro, hope they are ready.
The wording makes me confused.
DLC in an MMO? Wtf does that even mean? Cash shop, content updates? Groundbreaking stuff.
Obviously a AAA gaming forum where only the most intelligent gamers go.
Personally though, I don't care whether they have romance arcs or not, whether it be for same gender or whatever. But apparently a lot of people do care, so I don't see the harm in adding it in.

Oh look a competent player.
Its Bioware and SWTOR is being marketing as a typical BioWare RPG turned mmo. Not surprised that there is same sex marriage as you can hook up w/ same sex ppl in DA and ME
They just need to make a Mass Effect MMO. Hopefully this will be a stepping stone to that.
Is it free DLC or is it pay to gay? <-- best quote in that entire thread
ESRB rating inc:
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Platform: Windows PC
Rating: Teen
Content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Mild Language, Sexual Themes, Violence
Rating summary: In this massively multiplayer online (MMO) role-playing game, based on the Star Wars universe, players engage in a fictional conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Players can choose from classic Star Wars roles (e.g., Jedi Knight, Bounty Hunter, Trooper) and complete quests to determine their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Players use light sabers, laser blasters, and telekinetic powers to battle a variety of human-like enemies and fantastical creatures (e.g., aliens, cyborgs); battles frequently depict characters getting shot with lasers, slashed with light sabers, or shocked with lightning bolts. During the course of the game, players are presented with interactive cutscenes in which their choices play a vital role in the outcome of their story (e.g., using electrical attacks on restrained characters to collect information; killing someone instead of letting him go). Some sequences depict brief instances of blood and gore: to complete one quest, players must dip a skull in a pool of blood; in another mission, players deliver a severed head to a specific location and place it on a pike. Players can freely explore many areas in the game, including clubs that depict scantily clad female dancers with exposed cleavage; some sequences include dialogue with sexual innuendo (e.g., "An hour. I think I'm insulted. We'll need the whole night," "I'll be sure to make conjugal visits," and "Come, dear, let's forgo the nuptials and proceed to the honeymoon."). The words "damn" and "hell" can be heard in dialogue throughout the game.

No release date for a while

Not that it matters at this point, other things have grabbed my attention for the moment. We haven't given a street date yet. We won't talk about it (*implied - with our investors*) for some time, possibly at our next earnings call at the end of October. We expect to ship Star Wars by the end of this calendar year. But we did hold out a slight possibility it could slip to our March Quarter if the game needs it depending on feedback and other things. We're committed to getting the product right, we wont ship it before it's ready.
I can understand them wanting to get everything right before launch, but I think they would be making a mistake pushing it to next year. With so many good games coming out, it would be stupid for them to release it alongside games like GW2. The game can't be too far from being "finished" at this point with how long they've had testing going.
If it's really going to take them that long to find and fix bugs, they really need to put more people on it in-house and/or get some new people in there beta testing the game and not just playing the shit as a demo. I'd like to think that at least some of that 100+mil went into something other than just voice acting. I'm pretty close to just cancelling my pre-order at this point.
Its a mix of bug fixing and adding last minute additions right now. I've already cancelled my pre-order though, was only worth buying if it came out like nowish. There are enough other games coming out to keep me busy until gw2 at this point.
There reaches a point where you need to release a game even w/ balance issues and bugs. Pushing back a release date to work better on balance and stuff is stupid after a certain point. Bugs will always be there, you can never get rid of 95% of em before release.
Unless they are doing some combat overhaul, real raid changes and adding end game content.. it's just getting stupid at this point and only showing their insecurities. Combat hasn't changed from one major re-DL patch to the other... nor has quests... I mean they didn't even give ppl the lv 40 characters like they said they would.
I haven't even re-DL'd the game this past time. not worth it for me because i highly doubt I will be playing it unless it unless D3 gets pushed way back. D3 will last me until GW2 lol
Yeahhhh. This game isn't worth playing if it will never come out.
Stephen Reid already addressed this on twitter.
I don't understand. Dead Island released with such a shitty amount of bugs. BUT ITS STILL FUN AS FUCK WITH FRIENDS
