It did, we were going to release it in Jan, but it got pushed up to beat Diablo to release.

It was pretty obvious IMO. This week they were saying how they might push it to 2012 and would know until oct board review.... Then the day after blizz pushes back D3 they announce a release date

The bump in release date is simply to say they beat D3.

Things you can definitely expect from EA...

5 hour queue times.
Poor database management.
little or no response to customer complaints.
If you do get in touch with a CSR guess what! They are likely in India, I know because I helped to create the system that off-shored the overwhelming majority of CSR positions.

I think you missed the parts where 1) they've already responded to customer complaints on pretty major things, and 2) they implemented the bolster system to minimize queue times.

Yeah I don't understand all the fuss either, SWTOR and D3 aren't mutually exclusive, I'm going to play the shit out of both of them.

And Skyrim, and MW3, etc.

This is a great release date for them, assuming the headstart is before 12/20. Gives me 2-3 weeks to poopsock it up while on vacation. Hopefully they are prepared with tons of server because they are going to have 750k preorders by then.

Yeah its gonna be crazy. Thank god they are letting people start in waves with the early access program. That and they'll be spreading registered guilds out to different servers themselves, to prevent what happened with Rift where everybody picked the same server to play on and you had ques for the first month of release. Between those two things i think they'll have a smooth launch. Also they're gonna cap out pre-orders between now and December, i'd be shocked if they didn't

I just don't want to throw 60 bucks out the window to see if a mmorpg is worth playing or not, going to have to wait a month or two after the release on this one. Unless i get a beta invite and the entire game is accessible.

Welp after months of waiting I finally got into the testing stages today. Figures they wait to invite me the same week LOTRO releases their new expansion though. Going to have to come up with some new time management there.

Feeling charitable and I've already decided that I'm done with this piece of shit so letting somebody else use my account for testing. Have not even downloaded the new client so it shouldn't be closed down for access from another comp.
