You only have a single weekend beta invite. It's separate from the real beta crowd

For all you people still clinging to this failure of a game, here's how to fix the login errors for the beta this weekend. Email I got.

    Hello testers!

Yesterday evening an unforeseen error occurred with the installer and launcher for Star Wars ™: The Old Republic™. As a result you may be unable to run the game client due to a 'certificate error'. For some of you, you may not have been able to download the game installer at all.

Please note, if you have already completely patched the game, you do not need to uninstall your existing installation of Star Wars: The Old Republic. If you do so, you may be forced to re-download every asset you have previously downloaded.

To fix this error, for those of you who have already downloaded and installed the game, we must ask you to re-download the game installer, and re-install over your current installation of Star Wars: The Old Republic. This download is approximately 100Mb in size.

If you were in the process of patching the game, once re-installed, the patcher should pick up where your patch process left off.

To re-download the installer and fix the 'certificate error', please follow these instructions carefully:

    1) Clear your internet browser's cache completely.

    2) Locate the 'patch' folder installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\patch

    3) Delete the 'patch' folder.

    4) Launch your internet browser and login at www.swtor.com/tester/

    5) Click on the Download Now button. If the Download Now link does not work for you, please refresh the page and try again.

    6) Open or save the file TOR_setup.exe

    7) Run TOR_setup.exe

    8) You may receive a warning to use caution when opening executable files or that the file is from an Unknown Publisher. Click OK and then Run, to continue to the Set Up screen.

    9) You should see a dialog box saying 'An installation of Star Wars : The Old Republic was found' and 'Do you want to run the installer again'. Click Yes.

    10) On the Setup Wizard Welcome screen, click Next.

    11) On the Select Install Type screen, select Re-install and click Next.

    12) Once the re-installation is complete, click Next.

    13) On the Setup Wizard Completion screen, click Finish.

    14) Run Star Wars: The Old Republic from the desktop shortcut.

If you have not yet downloaded or installed Star Wars: The Old Republic and have experienced the 'download timing out' error, please do the following:

    1) Clear your internet browser's cache completely.

    2) Launch your internet browser and login at www.swtor.com/tester/

    3) Click on the Download Now button. If the Download Now link does not work for you, please refresh the page and try again.

    4) Open or save the file TOR_setup.exe

    5) Run TOR_setup.exe

    6) You may receive a warning to use caution when opening executable files or that the file is from an Unknown Publisher. Click OK and then Run, to continue to the Set Up screen.

    7) Follow the on-screen instructions to install Star Wars: The Old Republic to your hard drive.

    8) Run Star Wars: The Old Republic from the desktop shortcut.

We apologize for the inconvenience this error has caused and thank you for your understanding. If you encounter any issues during the installation process, please contact BioWare Customer Service via email, at [email protected]

Thank you, and enjoy the game!

I was so annoyed about the mis-email that went out thanking people for beta testing. I even wrote in like "but I'm not beta testing... how do I get in?" Then I received the email apologizing for the "oops" deployment ><

I'm interested in Swtor because i believe that there will be good endgame pve content which is the best part of any mmorpg. It's confirmed that there will be two seperate difficulties for every 5 person instance and raid like normal version and expert version. Over the course of time Bioware will continously make new 5 person dungeons and raids just like Blizzard does with WoW. So, i guess i'm interested in Swtor because it will have better endgame content than every mmorpg that was released within the last 6 years or so. As long as Bioware can keep their endgame content fresh and make it somewhat challenging then i believe that i can become very happy and enjoy playing the game for a long time. I don't care for the storyline and i'm definately not a star wars fan, i also prefer fantasy setting so i'm not interested because it carries the name of star wars. I hope my reason will help you in deciding if you are still on the fence about playing.

Bolded part makes absolutely no sense to me.

So they're going to do exactly what WoW is doing, but it's going to be fresh? How is it exactly better than endgame content for MMOs released in the last 6 years when it's almost identical to almost everything that's been released in the last 6 years?

You contradicted yourself like 4 times within the span of 3 sentences.

Keep their endgame content fresh as in releasing new endgame content when people get tired of the current endgame content is what i meant. Not a single mmorpg released within the last 6 years adopted the exact same endgame content model as WoW as in normal and heroic modes of 5 person dungeons and raids, they only had one single difficulty and none of these games came out with a whole new set of fresh 5 person dungeons and raids when the current became stale and boring. It's like all of these failed mmorpg games give you one flavor of icecream while WoW has given the whole fucking rainbow over the course of it's existance. I believe that Bioware will also gives us the whole fucking rainbow over the course of it's existance, i don't know about everyone else but i hate eating vanilla ice cream over and over. No other mmorpg gives you new 5 person dungeons, they might give you a new raid here and there but that's as far as it goes.
