No blood.
Then again:
But logic would say it wouldn't cause bleeding. Either way, it's fictional, so who really gives a damn.
Star Wars fans are some of the most rabid fans out there, so I daresay they'll care a whole lot.

The prequels are still good films. Not for the nostalgia, but filmmaking wise, they're two of the best sci-fi films made (Jedi was meh)
Gotta say that I really enjoyed the beta. While not perfect, I am still excited to play the final version. Really hoping some of the textures are finished up and the overall engine is a bit more optimized. Also didn't mind the "Space combat;" brought me back to my Rebel Assault 1 and 2 days![]()
I gotta ask though, are people really complaining about the music? Re-used Star Wars themes? Just wondering, but have you played and watched previous Star Wars games and movies? Shit has been rehashed for the past 30 years...
The music is probably one of the only areas I haven't really seen people complain about. Personally I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't reuse some of the classic themes. But from what I understand they also have a good amount of unique music scored for the game, as well as some music from the KotoR games.
Music and sound is something hard to fuck up with Star Wars. By default, you always get excited or feel like something action-oriented happens when you hear the main Jedi theme song.
Overusing the same elements can take you out of the experience though (a la Phantom Menace)
Was just commenting on someone earlier in this thread. I loved it when the "Classical" Star Wars music began playing on boss fights; it was great.
I was really hoping that there would be more customization when it came to the starships (Interior mannn, I like that). I also want one of those astromech droids as a companion for my merc...
There's a hell of a lot of pages and I'm not going back and reading all of them. With that said here's my thoughts after beta.
Gameplay: B-/C+
It's good but not great. Has the feel and look of WoW except admittedly its hushed by the oh so awesome sound of Lightsabers and Blaster fire. Nothing spectacular, and since I didn't really grind into higher levels, even after learning 6-10 abilities I found some really lacking and some just clearly better than others in virtually all ways. The leveling system is a clone of WoW and honestly this is my biggest negative. Really, its fine when MMOs copy and hopefully improve on one another I don't mind finding things I recognize from WoW or CoH or wherever as long as its the good aspects that are taken. Unfortunately as someone who's played a lot of MMO's (FFXI, EVE, CoH/CoV, WoW, Rappelz, Runescape(lol), Project Entropia, Aion Beta, FFXIV Beta) the one thing that needs to be original is the levelling system. I'm really turned off by the WoW clone of buying new ranks at a trainer and taking one of three talent trees with the 5 point/tier rule. Honestly, that bothers me more than the average grade gameplay itself. Dunno if I'm the only one with that opinion.
Graphics: Abstain
I'm not really to big a judge on graphics in MMOs and this was Beta and there were defects in the graphics and some intentional place holders even. The AA option is in the menu but currently grayed out. It was plenty fine when not bugged, but this can't really be judged in full until release.
Sound: B/B-
Star Wars music, but nothing really new to this game. Neither win nor fail just what you'd expect. Voice acting is excluded here cause I'm putting that in ...
Story: A+ (Wall O' Text incoming)
Hoooolllyy crap, this is literally the one thing that sold me. With just the above categories I would NOT play this game. As a current CoH and FFXI subscriber, this game doesn't have enough in the other categories to warrant me playing it. Even if I played 0 MMO's currently, I'd wouldn't be an easy sell, but I'd be open to it. But the story and story related elements I'm gonna have a hell of a hard time resisting this game.
I'll handle Voice Acting first and just say it was good. I didn't play all classes and heard some stories have worse voices and lines than others but hell, even though I didn't hear any really mediocre VA's, even if I did it just does wonder for gameplay to not have to read and to hear diologue like on non-MMO games. Its not even confined to cutscenes only which makes it all the more awesome.
Second is the Mass Effect dialogue wheel. Nothing innovative here, but its suddenly all kinds of awesome not only when doing soloable quests but it adds a really refreshing addition to instancing/raids (called Flashpoints). Since I read nothing about this game beforehand I was honestly shocked to see you can pick Dark Side choices on the Republic/Jedi side and Light Side choices on the Empire/Sith side. I guess I assumed each side already implied force alignment, but nope. I've never felt more attached to my MMO characters and I felt actually part of the story. I'm not that guy in FFXI cutscenes who makes identical choices to everyone else ... I'm the guy who chose to save the engineers on the ship, but you're the guy who sucked them out an airlock in a plan to reboot the ships security system. Awesome.
In addition, as I said, the choices are in the Flashpoints, which is cool. Each dialogue point everyone clicks on and then you all make independent choices(and get alignment points) based on your decision. Simultaneously the game also rolls a random lot and the highest lot is the person and dialogue used in the cutscene and determines the path you'll follow if its a branch. You also get Social EXP (I know nada about what you get from this) and more Social EXP if you win the lot.
Finally I'll address flashpoints themselves. Unfortunately I didn't get to do many, but it looks like there's a lot all over and that it's a major gameplay element. This is what felt like going from simply good story to real Star Wars content. Standard non-flashpoint missions already rock with diologue and VA's but the flashpoints I saw integrated into making it feel like your character is really part of an ongoing tale. The main example I'll chose is when you leave the Jedi starting area and need to travel to Coruscant. For the lazy or friendless you can just hop into the shuttle to the left to zone over OR you can walk onto the ship and experience how your character REALLY made the trip. You didn't just zone over, you got attacked by a Grand Moff's Star Destroyer, you made some morality choices, and you bitch smacked a Sith Lord around before saving everyone you didn't get killed in the morality choices and hopping into Hyperdrive. Awesome.
Being that you didn't put the crafting and space combat systems into your grading of the Gameplay I'd say that pushes the average even lower. I agree with the Graphics, I don't really care for the style but whatever they're not /bad/ per se. Sound same.
I'm curious as to what Classes you played that you would give Story an A+, because anything sith related was just a gigantic pile of mediocre. Including VA.
Admittedly I did not play any Republic classes, and I've even heard the story was better for those.
And as I said earlier, at least the jedi consular story is complete ass. I dunno where people are getting that it's an "awesome" story. Maybe they're the same people who thought DA2 was a thrilling tale?
Anyone else in that weekend beta get 6 emails of like "Thanks for playing the Beta!"? Get your shit together, Bioware. I want in the actual beta not this weekend thing. If you participated in one weekend do you have a chance to get in another?
I think they re-invited all of the people from the first weekend beta to the most recent one as well. And then added more people on top of that. So maybe that's what they'll continue doing.
