Looks like they are sending out an email to anyone who registered before today saying they will get to test EVENTUALLY.

Everybody who had previously signed up for game testing got an email today, whether you are already in a weekend test or the long term beta, that you'll be able to be part of a universal weekend test in a couple weeks. They invited anybody who had signed up for game testing before today, all 1.5 million people. If you are in this weekends test or were in any previous one, you'll also be in the big one later on with everybody else.

Don't confuse that email with a weekend invite for the test starting today. If it didn't have specific dates with big green and red fonts then it was just for the universal test later on.
