wooooo my beta is so much fun 3000-6000+ queues no matter what I try. What time zones is this beta in? I get up pretty early est so I'm hoping I have a bit more luck then
There's a separate EU beta. You can see the servers in the list.
Shitty feature that should not be any any MMO that has PVP. Aion should have taught us that. Everything else i pretty much agree with you on.
Also, i'm on Cosmic Turbine and have logged in and out at least 2 dozen times with no queues so i dunno why everyone else is having issues.
I don't think the queue is there if you log in and out after you've made a character. I logged out and in briefly with no wait.
just tried Cosmic Turbine and 2885 in queue lol.. I'll try tomorrow morning
I was on Cosmic Turbine. After reading this thread, i feel like i shouldn't have logged out lol.. oh well.
Didn't have any issues at all so far aside from some cosmetic bugs. no crashes, no lockups, nothing. I did wait an extra 30 mins after 5 cst before i tried to login though, i figured that it would be total chaos then, and it was!
Anyway, i'm lvl 9 now, Sith Inquisitor, and loving it so far. Game is pretty badass. i absolutely love not having auto attack, it makes the game so much more exciting. Last time i played wow was a few weeks ago, and the experience is night and day between TOR and that. The animations flow pretty elegantly into one another, and I don't think i'll ever get tired of random kill animations. I fail to see how this was one of the most criticized things about this game, when its one of the most impressive things they've done here, and thats judging with only with a few different abilities.
Did the couple group quests on Korriban, the experience was 100% of what I would find when grouping up for a group quest in WoW/Rift. Kinda disappointed there. Other missions/quests were very enjoyable. Don't mind random kill quests popping up at all, murdering entire groups of enemies is fun as hell. A lot of the solo instanced quests, especially the ones towards the end before you got your companion, were layed out pretty good in a challenging way. The occasional strong mob in a pack is a good way to teach people to CC certain targets, especially when its in a solo instance. I was super excited there when i saw what they were doing. Overall, I feel that questing isn't anywhere near as mind numbingly boring as it is in WoW or Rift. Theres a number of little changes to the formula that result in a much more fun mmo experience.
Based on the first few hours, i'm thoroughly satisfied with what Bioware has done. Gonna see how high i can get by sunday night.
When I hit play, my screen goes blue and says "Unsupported" Is this what you mean?
Edit: Hit start, came back 22 minutes later and still nada. Have to restart to get it to show my desktop again.
Edit2: Followed first fix here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=602549 Got to server, 179 in queue![]()
I agree and disagree. Auto following targets that are within your line of sight is more than acceptable. But you should stop and have no pathing to targets you can't physically see. I also like the way Guild Wars does it where you stop following once you reach the target so you don't just keep chasing and attacking.
Had a power outage here for a min or so... got back in.. only 260 in queue... down to 50But dear god, I will be buying Day 1. Fuck the haters
Just left the starting area. Holy shit, I love the ship-based graphics. Still nursing this Nerdvana boner. Best game ever. :D
Again, if there isn't a SPECIFIC date on the email, it means you registered before today and will be invited to ONE of the weekends after this one.
Started playing a Jedi guardian now to see how it is... not gonna lie, the Sith Empire is pretty epic... Let's see if the Jedi side can compare
I'm actually liking the game so far, even though it does use the "traditional" style of gameplay. The VO'd interactive story really makes a huge difference in questing. Sith Warrior VO is pretty bad ass, so glad they decided to give Sith empire British accents lol. I will agree though that the UI does need some work. Some more customization would be nice. And we're in desperate need of an appearance tab. Combat is basically just like WoW or Rift, but to me it actually feels more fluid and faster paced. You're always taking on multiple groups of enemies and destroying them, so it feels like they captured that "heroic" feeling they were going for, even at lower levels.
I can understand how some people might not like it though, since it does go with the typical, overused formula. I went in expecting a WoW clone with a decent story line, but I actually like it more than I thought I would. And with GW2 possibly being released later than Q1, it might be something to hold me over until then.
Maybe it's because i've already leveled jedi to 40, but i'm completely bored doing the same quests again on smuggler and i'm only 11. The novelty of it being SW has worn off and the game isn't even released yet. That's not a good sign.
Someone get on my server, give me 4000 creds so I can start a beta guild. I'm trolling a few of the current ones but I'd like to gather everyone up.
I want my god damn lightsaber before I goto bed!
Still going strong. PvP'd my brains out for like 4 hours. Huttball sucks.
