I agree that combat is kinda slow, and the white knight transformation is HUGE, but I'm hoping it leads to more strategic fights where u want that time to think of you next move and stuff. Also, maybe it has a combat speed option

I don't mind flashy magic or long animations as long as the damage done is proportionate to the time spent on the animation. In FFIX, if Arc did more than 9999 damage for the amount of time I spent watching the animation, I would have used it more often.
Time is money, so to speak. But there is a limit to that, of course.
Arc was fucking torture to watch the animation after the first two times. The first time was kind of like "Wow, that's badass", then the second was just "Yeeeeah that's way too long".
When you have a move that takes 1-2 seconds to do and does the same damage, it kind of rapes your sanity to use anything else. The damage cap was about the only thing I hated about FFIX.
Indeed, FFIX was one of my favorite Final Fantasy games.
I hope it gets released on PSN. I think I've lost my CD's for it. Maybe I should download it and replay it.
Yeah definitely ff9 was my favorite. I just like to see flashy things though in regards to magic and abilities, maybe final fantasy has me spoiled.
For us Americans, it's about big numbers. It's ALWAYS about big numbers.
1 week!
I have heard that a few stores (small stores in large markets) already have the game![]()
I'm kind of surprised online sites like IGN havent alrdy posted their review of the game... high profile games get early reviews if they dont suck
Well its only wednesday, normally their reviews will go up on either fridays or the day prior.
Fuck the critics. I am looking forward to it.
at its worst, it's a pseudo MMO, and god knows I played the shit out of PSO even though it's such a horrible grind
Oh so am I! W/the onslaught of good games coming out it's hard to pick w/ first.. Least I know Heavy Rain will be short so can finish that up before FFXIII
Even if the SP is mediocre it should be enjoyable/fun enough to finish and get something out of. The MP is going to be awesome, low manning shit with 1-4 people while unlocking badass weapons and armor ala~ Monster Hunter, Fuck Ya sign me up. (I still think I will enjoy SP quite a bit, I'll admit I am a sucker for a decent JRPG)
I don't know what I am doing time wise, I am working on completing ACII then have Darksiders, WKC, Heavy Rain, FFXIII (Which will take precedent over all) GoW 3, Dante's Inferno, Renosance of Fate. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. At least the usual barren summer months will give me plenty of time to catch up.
I'm pretty sure the knock on the game is the lack of an "innovative" battle system, which, quite frankly, doesn't mean dick to me, but for some reason really makes a big difference to reviewers. I don't expect this game to get good reviews, probably middling at best, but I'll buy it day 1 just the same because I know I will like it.
