Xenosaga 1/2/3 had respectively 8h, 6h and 6h worth of animated cutscenes (XS3 had 4 more hours of dialoguy). The ratio isn't as high as people make it sound.

I'm well aware of that, it's just easy to use for comparison because of the flak it caught for having so much time spent in cutscenes. And don't get me wrong, it's not that I wouldn't like a 100+ hour RPG, I'm just afraid I won't have time to get through it uninterrupted. I'm still going to buy this one way or the other.

Yeah, people complain about anything given the chance, but like you if I'm gonna spend £40/50 then I would like to play a game that lasts 100 hours rather than 8 hours.

If there is even one good solid element that will keep hooked you going in this game it is well worth it IMO.

Regarding the 'White Knight Chronicles' trailer; it did look awesome, but really I can't for a second think that any shred of that was actual gameplay footage and not just rendered cinematics. It certainly looks awesome, no doubt about that, but I would be interested to see the actual game working.

If gameplay is fun, then grinding isn't a problem. Hell, even a 40hr game is long. 100hrs is a pretty high ballpark figure, but if the story and gameplay is good, I doubt much will matter.

I don't consider it grinding when it's fun but no rpg has accomplished this for me so far.


I can still enjoy a game with ton of useless grinding (ie: persona 3), but I would rather spend my time on something more memorable than killing the same monsters 100 times in 25 hours.

Sounds sort of like PSO with the online and offline seperate story/quests. Is there any more recent gameplay? Last I saw was from TGS 07 and it looked pretty dreadful.

I havent seen any new ganeplay yet, still a couple more daysof the event left so we'll see, if not hafta wait till december and see more then, and gdi a NA release would be nice...

Looks pretty good from that trailer. If I saw correctly, it gives you the ability to string together your own combo/special attacks? That's pretty hawt stuff right there.

Provided the online aspect doesn't end up being like PSU all over again (which it doesn't look like it would), I'll be picking this up whenever it releases stateside.
