Ok, so are you a Texas resident, and did you use the Texas Common App https://www.applytexas.org/? If you did, there should be nothing wrong and you should be considered a Texas resident if you gave them a legal and valid Texas address. Uh, Texas would be its own nation if it had a say. It's the second largest state in the US (Besides Alaska) and it has a ton of different areas. The east is much different from the west, north and south, etc etc. There are plenty of wealthy areas, but there are also plenty of shitty podunk towns full of rednecks. In general, Texas is seen as a big redneck state. They have poor rednecks, and they have rich rednecks (Bush), but they're all rednecks.

It just depends on what part of the country you are from, and if you look at all the natural resources that come from Texas domestically for the U.S., people probably would change their tune.

I don't see how Texas is unpopular, Shue's after reading this board and how it's political leanings are which are primarily liberal, Texas is one of the more conservative states in the Union.

After my travels throughout the US, me personally, I'd rather be in Texas or NC or SC than in say Vermont or New Hampshire or Northern California. A lot has to do with how you grew up, the different states are quite different in how they go about things. Like I live in Northern Virginia which is completely different than say 40 or 50 miles south which turns into the stereotypical backwoods Virginia.

Haha, having natural resources says nothing about one place at all, it's the people. I went to a private high school in TX and everyday we commuted to school from a ranch where we all lived. Guess what, there were shotgun shells on the floor of the school bus/van. Half of the teachers also dip most the day. Not to generalize, but what I went through really gave a bad impression about the place. TX's redneck image is then reinforeced by all the messed up news we hear everyday about people getting shot and killed because they were on someone's lawn posing no threat.

I've lived in Texas my whole life. I've lived in Houston, San Antonio, and Fort Worth/Dallas. I also have many friends that live in Austin. Each city is different.

Austin is very Liberal, and has alot of Hippies
Houston is very mixed, it has very rich people and very poor people.
San Antonio is has alot of Hispanics, and some Germans.
Fort Worth/Dallas is kinda like Houston, but with alot more Churches and Red-necks, also has a large population of Asians.

All over them were fun places to live. Texas just has a bad rep right now cause its been a GOP state for a while, the Bushs live here, and we kill alot of people in prison and with guns.
The show Cops films alot in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. LOL

People outside of TX think it is one of the worst hands down, while people stuck in it assume they are the best thing since sliced bread. They have more self promoting slogans they they do literate people. They like to call us "haters" because the other 49 states think they are retarded.

It is basically a jazzed up Mexico but it is a part of that happens to be a part of the Union. Where lovable losers are worshiped to no end! I mean look no further than the Dallas lolboys. Remember Davey Crocket, Jim Bowie and the other "American Heros" that basically got they asses handed to them at the Alamo. They like to forget when you're at war, there is no "second place" or consolation prizes, you either win or you don't.
