Weapon skills better in tp gear.

Hello everyone, I am a male hume DRK. almost always drk/sam and I have a few questions. Sometimes when im self skill chaining distortion with great sword, I don't bother swapping into my weapon skill gear because i'm playing around solo on (lesser colibri) wajaom woodlands, And my spinning slash's are doing 1800+ dmg. so im happy with those numbers I wont complain. Anyway I go to do the same thing with all my weaponskill gear and turn one out for a litttle over 900. Ok so that last one for 1800 was a freak ws, whatever. Do it again - 1808. Try with ws gear, little over 900. Went on like this for the last 2 hours or so. In my tp gear 1300-1900. ws gear 900-1400. all spinning slash. Am i doing something wrong? is theyre something in my gear i should change? And another thing. I'm doing better damage with my great sword in XP party on greater colibs. nyzule isle stage than with my scythe. only brd buffs double march, no food. my guilotene is usually 800-1100 and spinning slash almost the same but a little higher and faster. am i doing something wrong on my ws gear?

I never get to do this...

    Advanced?

But seriously, I'm not sure why that's happening. I'd say chk your modifiers, but I'd bet it's something else. That's a pretty big disparity.

No biggie, it'll get moved. That's weird with your ws returns, you gear seems ok to me. Was it completely static with your damage returns, did you ever get that high with ws gear, and were you luckily proccing double attacks on most of your tp gear WS?

a couple times i hit that high with my ws gear. but far and few over the last year of play time. biggest spike i ever hit was 3998 on an aern in sea /thf. foolishly i wasnt even paying attention to my tp returns after Ws. My algol has been snappin off all morning and trip hittin non stop. Wish it always did this. Ok so i just did a few more birds and now im at a consistant 900-1000 range on WS with my tp gear. and consistant 800-1100 range on WS gear. its such a small difference.

Moved to newbie. Also makes me wonder if SE ever added anything effected by haste. Maybe thats the missing link on Insurgency seeing how freaking long the WS animation is.

Its possible you were getting double or triple attacks using an Algol. You also have some double attack stacked in your TP set so that's probably what's setting it off. Other than that I don't know, check your tp return.

One quick recommendation, replace the flame ring in your TP build with your Raja's.

I'm going to go with DA/TA procs. Take a sample of 50 WS in WS gear and 50 WS in TP gear, write down both the damage and TP return for each one then come back. If there's still that big disparity then we have some finding out to do.

parse and do larger sample size like 100 WS

eyeballing for 3-4 mobs isnt effective

and ya spinning slash better than guillitine in xp unless u get decent DA on guillitine

My Guillotines always outdamage my Spinning Slashes in merits, so I'm not sure how we differ.

    back with some result

ok so I have been playing with Spin/slash and took the advice of doing ws's on a large scale of colibri vs. eyeballing 3-4. And my consistant numbers were high 900's - 1200's some of them peaked up around 1800 but not often i think maybe 2 in around 100 did. All of this was done /sam with hasso up and thats it for buffs. Does that sound about where i should be with damage? I mean is that good or bad?
And as far as guilotene I made 2 adjustments and my damage sky rocketed. My acc on WS must have been to crappy cause i swapped out askar head with Ohat and stoped macroing in flame ring and left ulthalams on my consistant hits are around 1280 with only hasso up. Is that where i should be or should it be higher? any input would help. All of the testing i did was on colibri in wajaom woodlands so i know its not perfectly accuarate but it gives me a good idea of where im at. Does this sound right for numbers to you guys? or am i to low or better than average? thankyou all for the tips though!

Are askar dirs preferable to use for guillotine? I was pretty sure I was seeing lower damage then black with them so I switched. You appear to have plenty of accuracy, and should not need them. I am going to go test again, since you have me doubting myself again >.> Other then that, I would suggest keeping an eye on TP return during your WSs and make sure guilly is connecting, and SS isn't DA or TAing to get those numbers.

Edit: also you have Rajas, so I would suggest trying to get a gorget for guillotine, it will do much better then chiv and not cost you like a pcc would.

lol, the spikes in your damage are strictly from algol, and not your ws or tp gear.

the triple attack proc is what will give you 1800 SS- consider it luck that it happens so often for yours

I havnt been testing with algol much after I did about 100 ws's with it and saw the last numbers I posted. Ive been mainly on scythe lately. Whole reason is I got my death scythe +1 and Im havin alot of fun on 6hit setup with it. About the gorget's I have had it drilled into my head that "they only help single and or the first hit of your WS" have you guys found otherwise?
