I dunno how a 6'1" 200lb Maclin would compare to Corners and Safeties of the NFL. He's be an awesome PR/KR though I think. Then again, he could be another DeSean Jackson, so what do I know.
    Do they have the raw tools to match up with what Williams has? No.

    Do I think every one of them is capable of getting more than 800 yards a year as part of one of the best WR groups out there? Hell yeah.

    Roy Williams

    This trade just made Brad Johnsons job a lot easier.

    It's gonna take at least until after the next game for them to get Williams integrated probably. Still, I'd have to agree with you on that, basically jumping into a starting role with 2 feature WRs and Barber and Witten to boot has to be nice, if the line can hold its own

    Brad Johnson isn't that bad of a quarterback either. Dallas is still gonna be good, no doubt about that.

    Nobody can deny Owens/Williams/Witten will be a three headed receiving monster.

    Yeah, I was talking about the actual value of the contract. A sighing through 2013 for a #1 WR has got to be bigger than TO's contract by far. The Cowboys are giving up so much for RW...

    I think signing Roy was smart move for the Cowboys.

    Romo/Witten/Williams/Barber is a studly nucleus going ahead into the future. They're all just entering their primes at 27, and will be there for at least 3 more years.

    in the off season owens was given a 4 year 34m dollar contract. this was after he had played 2 years of a 3 year 25m dollar contract.

    roy has a 5 year contract not including this year, it will probably be in the range of 40m with the majority of it back loaded because there is no salary cap for 2010

    edit: just read that the deal through 2013 actually HASNT been completed yet but they are close. rumored to be in the 8.5-9m/year range.

    You guys say Jerry gave up alot, and he did. But you have to realize he wants to win THIS year, so next years draft picks don't mean shit to him. We got a stadium opening up next year dudes, need that SUPERBOWL.

    Dallas draft picks this year.

    - 1st Traded to Detroit
    2nd Original
    + 3rd Acquired from Cleveland
    - 3rd Traded to Detroit
    4th Original
    + 4th Acquired from Detroit
    5th Original
    + 5th Acquired from Tennessee
    * 5th Possible Compensation Pick
    + 6th Acquired from Miami
    - 6th Traded to Detroit
    * 6th Possible Compensation Pick
    + 7th Acquired from Detroit
    7th Original
    * 7th Possible Compensation Pick

    So basically the trade was 50 mil/first round daft pick for a proven WR. And depending how long T.O lasts could be his replacement. Seeing how much 1st rounders/rookies get paid it's not that bad.

    julius jones should net a third or fourth round compensation pick if he keeps on being productive.

    I wonder if the Lions will offer cash back on Ticket returns. Maybe they may sell tickets if Kitna fights a bear during Halftime.
