do you care about the moon, day and direction?

i was just wondering if you care about the moon, the day or direction when you craft?

i was working on a haubergeon +1, always crafted them on fire or windsday and looked east-south. after i did about 55 synths all nq and then thought fuck it, so i started to craft em when ever i had the mats in my hands, only looked on the direction cause it doesnt cost anything. after 62 synths haubergeon #63 and #64 went hq on random days.

im not sure if i should care about the day or moon anymore ^^;

what do you think?

I used to (Moon/Day), but don't anymore. I just craft whenever I have enough mats to synth multiple times if I'm making stuff for HQs.

I still use the direction thing since it only takes a second to turn a certain direction anyways. But if I don't, then I'm not gonna worry about it. Often I'll synth while running somewhere not caring what direction I'm facing just to save time traveling.

Edit: My opinion:

If it does matter, the difference is minimal enough that you shouldn't need to bother going out of your way for it. It's also not going to kill you should you decide to be supersticious.

Honestly i say if you think it helps then do it. Don't listen to what people say about it because 90% of crafters will tell you to fuck off and die. Personally i like New Moon Full Moon as well, but i have HQed just as much on off moon phases so who knows.

I think directions and moons crafting rules are just like religions. There are two kinds of mindsets :

1- I have no proof it is true so I'm gonna believe it.
2- I have no proof it is true so I'm NOT gonna believe it.

On BG, 2s usually win, and love to make 1s feel and look like idiots in the process. Zam on the other hand, is full of 1s. Just saying...

No conclusive data have ever been presented to suggest that day of the week, cardinal direction, or moonphase have a substantial effect on crafting results.

But then again, everyone needs to rub their lotto tickets with their rabbit foot of choice.

I always face the theoretical crystal direction because I've done it so long it feels wrong to not do it. For big synths I'll wait for the day to be the day strong to my crystal synth, yet I won't synth on watersday unless it's a water synth, but I find moon phases to be too much of a pain in the ass to worry about

i also turn the "suposid" direction when i can be bothered/remember... perhaps it helps.. perhaps it doesnt but the time take isnt much of a issue so i see np with that...

moon/day phases etc again mayeb it helps who can say ide liek to think it does but jesus i dont have all week to wait for a few hours at 3.04 am on a wednesday morning for optimal time to synth a melon pie+1 or w/e

craft the shit often enuff and youll get a HQ.. or how must stuff seams to go.. be a total asshatt/RMT and get HQ more than most

voodoo I tell you voodoo! After that dev guy made that joke years ago, never bothered. Only one I could say might be true is moon since it affects fishing/digging (possibly even mining but I don't mine ). But even then I'm not so sure.

I couldn't agree more. I used to believe in all that crap and I used to hoard mats and waited for the "right time" to synth. I stayed up real late or woke up real early if needed when I was but a crafting nooblet. It didn't do any good. I went 0/50+ on Alchemy cursed t1s.

Now I craft all the time and I'm doing pretty well. I keep track of my Leather and Bone HQ percentages and the seem to be right in line with what I've heard to be the average percentages per Tier.

IDK, I'm still wait for moon/days, maybe cause I have had luck with it recently, last month I waited for full moon lightsday and went 2/27 on Genie Weskits, it could have happened on any day, mood, direction, but the fact that it happened then and other times have gone like 0/30 I just do it even if it is BS lol. Then again I finally made a signed Lamia Kaman +1 for myself last night on full moon, firesday and I hate fires day.

Depending on moon phases is just like wearing ure lucky shirt to baseball game. You wear a lucky shirt to a game, the team happens to win. You do it again and they win again. It's not the shirt that plays the role, is just.....well you know. The same concept. You go 2 times a week to a game and they just so happen to win those 2 everytime you go. But what about those 15 + other games they win during the month, there are your offset moon phases.

I face the direction you supposedly have to face for w/e crystal, but it's more of a "eh, if I'm gonna synth anyway, might as well." Back when I was a tender newbie, I'd wait for the right day, and at the most extreme even the right moonphase. No more. XD

The Moon, Day and Direction is the foundation of my crafting life (curently Bonecraft 87.6 +2) for Skill ups,preparating ingredients for skill ups or Crafting for gil.
Really to be totaly honest,in my search for the grail,rummiging through Forums all over the net,I have found only 1 truth.
Only people that admit to NOT following ,as Maat4684 called, "theoretical crystal directions",seem to have the most issues of cracking the code.

I do the direction thing, mainly because like others said, it only takes a second of my time. As for moon,day i don't bother with one exception, when paranoid friends beg me to wait until the right day, moon blah blah for a synth that they want me to try and HQ i'll do it to shut them up lol.

Incidently I've never HQ'd a synth for one of these paranoid friends ever haha.
