Heh, someone ran out of stuff to bitch about. Derail over...
That must be it, or the fact that you never understood my argument so I felt it better to mock you which seemed to entertain others. I think it's super awesome that you will continue to make notes about crafting at random times and that maybe in 50 years you might have some logistical proof to tell your grandkids about.... good times.
I like having something to do in the few seconds in between synths. I am sure you waste more time staring blankly into the screen than me scribbling out notes in my Excel. Time wasted or not, it is not your duty to judge, nor do you have the right to.
Mocking me as well as others on this forum, just makes you look childish and dumb. If you have nothing constructive to say, just keep quiet. If your mocking was entertaining, I am sure others will join in the fun.
on kujata every single crafter that i know that respect those voodoo bullshit are poor as fuck. ppl who dont care and craft once mats are on the ah are really really rich.
i totally support ppl who believe in all that crap because they buy ingrediants at specific time because they are too poor to hold mats. that allow me to buy way more ingrediants and craft once i get them. so yeah i encourage ppl to beleive in that stuff so i can control near every market on WW and BC.
Wow it took you a week to think of a retort and that was it? Actually it didn't make me look childish or dumb, it was quite entertaining and others did join in the fun so thank you for reinforcing my point. Since this is a public forum and you are expressing an opinion publicly I'm well within both my right to judge and if I feel it is my duty. You apparently still don't understand my argument nor the concept of what a "forum" is. Perhaps you should look up the definition before telling me about my rights or deciding which one of us is dumb.
Public forum...ok...doesn't make you any less of a jerk.
Putting forth your argument, fair enough.
Mocking others for no good reason, you're shallower than the puddle of water outside my house, and for the record, you're the one who started it. So I decided that you are dumb and childish and not worth my attention anymore.
To Iskra, if moon/day/direction doesn't have an effect, then those people who pick times to synth won't be any worse off than you. The results will all be the same. Crafting at specific times/days won't stop people from stockpiling materials over the week. In short, it won't help you control the market. Feel free to spend every penny you have to undercut prices enough such that no one else would bother to make the items though.
As for myself, I have made just over 80M from WW alone since 12/24/06. Rich as fuck? Far from it. Poor as fuck? I doubt so either. I have my fair share of HQ and break streaks (currently on my 6 d log continuous break). Bullshit on my claims? Every synth of note, cost, sale and net profit along with the synth environment is recorded since I hit 100WW. And it only took me just a little bit more time than the average crafter to keep the records. I doubt I am the only one keeping such records but again it is perfectly up to you as well as anyone to do so or not to do so. At the end of the day, if I claim that so & so has an effect or doesn't have an effect, I know I have some data to back what I say.
Edited for clarification. So back to my point the burden of proof still lies within those who are crafting on specific days/moons which from Aurik and others we do have a load of data. That data at this point shows that there is nothing to reinforce the belief that they affect anything. Since I've been going through crafting forums for 4 or 5 years now and no one has ever provided any proof that phases/days affect crafting I can say with confidence that you are indeed a tool.
I haven't read one post in this topic, not 1 word of it.
I hope you all die.
Aren't we all weak? heh. Religion of no religion is still a religion.
and a smartass in a board is still a smartass :D
Back before groups of elite crafters decided to ridicule those that tried to help themselves out by waiting for certain conditions before crafting, I based all of my own personal crafting theories on a rather small sampling of clubs posted on Allakhazam.com and done by what most on BG would consider a noob.
I used this information as my bible and held consistent rates above the proposed tier percentages for a time. I quit for a while and upon coming back a very good friend of mine (or so I had thought) who was one of the few 100+3 crafters on my server back when I had quit told me that in my yearlong absence it had been almost universally accepted by FFXI's elite that synthesis factors such as moon day and direction had no substantial or long-term effect on skillups, on success rates, and most definitely on HQ rates.
I took his word for it, if anything because this new notion could serve as an excuse for me to be lazy and not attempt to maximize my success in crafting. I saw my rates fall below the proposed tier percentages. But back then I was still profiting at an incredible rate thanks to a beautiful synthesis recipe composed of FFXI kiddies (who were rich, ambitious, and terribly impatient) combined with the infamous dark crystal of RMT, who were, at the time, selling seven digits of gil for a single digit of USD. Especially at christmas time.
Sadly as time moved on these kiddies died off. Today they are practically extinct; a demographic phenomena strongly assisted by the challenge free game of WoW. I was in a state of flux. Suddenly my terrible HQ rates weren't enough to sustain the lavish habits I had developed over the time of "economic prosperity". Struggling for peace after a terrible session of t0's, I log into a mule to spend time at the bonecraft guild skilling the local craft with the help of imagery support. As chance would have it, I happened upon an age-old friend of mine. In fact it was the same one who had told me so long ago to toss all superstitions out the window in order to avoid being crucified as a foolish crafting nub.
In devout admiration of my crafting guru I watched him go 3/12 on cursed cap -1.
Awestruck I /cheered.
Knowingly, he /nod in return.
Remembering my "crazy, incredibly superstitious ways of the past" from back when I used to try and use factors to affect my HQ rates, I wondered what random day my friend had just struck gold on.
Curiosity got the best of me and i /clock on. I was speechless as I read the screen.
Windsday, XX:XX
New Moon (2%)
The next day on my main I sparked a conversation with my friend. It naturally progressed to crafting and he bragged of yet another recent string of "total-random-luckiness" as he went 3/12 on caps. I asked him if he paid attention to the day or moonphase when he went on such an historic tear. He responded by telling me he had just lol'd irl by such a foolish idea, saying he had no idea what the conditions were nor did he care.
Amazed by my "friend's" blatant lie I thought of how many t0 and t1 crit breaks I had lost over the past year while following my "friend's" proposed doctrine for HQ's; that is, not caring.
~
I then formed my own opinion. Not of crafting variables.. but of people. I decided, true or not, that all I had heard from the crafting elitists across Vana'diel was no more than rhetorical propoganda often infused with profanity and insane statistics and steaks which was used to prevent the majority of the crafting population from maximizing profit potential for their own greedy gain.
A bit melodramatic sure.
But I couldn't sleep and felt like telling my story.
Since I started superstitiously keeping track of HQ's...
T0 - 2.8%~
T1 - 10.1%~
T2 - 23.0%~ (only staves counted)

I can understand how the coloured stars quickly found their way into crafting superstition. I can understand why crafters down on their luck were desperate to cling to the slightest chance that they might be able to "do better". I can understand the "well you have to face one direction so why not?" argument.
What I don't understand is how 4 years of this shit and countless testing has led to no evidence to support it yet people still live by this.
Consider this, alla + majority of NA's believe SE is hq direction for earth, JP's and some craft forums believe S is. Each believes the others HQ direction is the NQ direcion.
Conclusion > face the auction house or delivery box, it makes it easier to sell off your items and get new mats.
Looks like a necro~ but how about this...
Tell us if you believe in all this hocus pocus (your own favorite blend)+ your current HQ rates and let us compare which camp of thought have the advantage if there is any?
Nyxi (Superstitious):
T0 - 2.8%~
T1 - 10.1%~

Myself (Superstitious) as of 11/28/2008:

T1 - 6.73% (D Logs, 15/223), 6.25% (Cursed Haidate, 1/16)
T2 - 24.25% (Staves, 315/1299), 25.24% (Ebony Logs, 132/523)
I'm bored, so I'll share my numbers for my Bone and Leather mules (don't keep numbers on Alchemy). I craft whenever I can get mats. (Copypasta from a notepad file I update every time I craft).

25% (Mezraq, 1/4 after I hit 100),
ZOMG CRAFT AT THE RITE TIMEZ AND ITS A T2 ZOMG I TOLD YOU SO
The point I'm making is that one extremely lucky synth is totally skewing your t0% average by a large amount and distorting the data you're presenting. By the logic you're using to prove the theory, if I find one person who happens to get lucky on a T0 synth that was done at a random time/day and has a 100% Hq rate due to that being the only T0 synth they've ever attempted, rather than being a (vaguely) interesting statistical anomaly thrown out by a random number generator, it can be used as rock solid evidence to support the fact that you should craft whenever you feel like it. Now where's that dead horse smiley.
Edit: I'm all for posting and comparing the results of those who use theories and those don't, but the data you've posted isn't exactly a meaningful amount.
