Pokemon MMO (Better than the others)

So you know how everybody would really love a Pokemon MMO well I was joking in my office the other day and I jokingly went and looked around trying to find a good example of how crappy they are and actually found one that seemed extremely well done with lots of promise. I've since downloaded it and have been playing for about an hour now. It's surprisingly well done with only a few issues which are due to it still being in development.

Also, I had trouble registering on their forums (didn't get my emails until like 20 minutes ago when I registered yesterday). But the registration for the game is done through the client and is quick and easy.

Post your starter and your in game names if you're going to fool around. I'm near the start just grinding on wilds (trainer battles don't give exp for now).

Meh, this one is okay but it seems really, really buggy compared to what you get play-wise. Also is there no other way to constantly move? I hate this slow moving of your character across the map like a slug or something lol.

The battling is not buggy at all the only thing that is awkward is the movement which should be fixed in the Beta 5 coming (see OP). It's really shaping up well in my opinion, especially when you keep in mind what's there now on the servers is really just for testing purposes of basic functions while the majority of the storyline gameplay itself will be added with the next update (read: All of Johto).

But yeah, in short the movement sucks and is slow and choppy but it's only for the Beta 4.

Right, after saying that you lose any credibility you had. You obviously haven't played the two.

Half of the Pokemon moves learned don't work such as Smokescreen for Charmander, etc.
Character movement is choppy as hell, not fluid in movement at all.
Only items that can be purchased are Pokeballs.
And a billion other issues with it.

Its pretty much a 90% rehash of Pokemon World minus the flashy interface which doesen't even have the smallest things needed like a map integrated. Or anything else for that matter.

As I said, its no better than the offline single player flash game that was on Newgrounds awhile back.

First, the offline single player flash you're referring to pales in comparison to the one developed by the people who are working on PokeGlobal currently.

PGR v0.8.2 features:
- Choice of Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh
- All 493 Pokemon
- Full Battle Engine
- Pokemon Centre + Pokemart
- Pokedex, Pokegear
- Quests
- Hidden Locations
- Music

This is already available, this is just an example of what they've got. They already have a working copy of the game done they are just working on getting it into a stable format for online play with multiple users.

Second, the issues you mentioned aren't issues; you're complaining about a lack of material for the most part when the point is, the bones are there and the meat is going to be added this month. Complaints like "Only items that can be purchased are pokeballs" or "Limit of only 4 areas currently" are moot.

If you'd played Pokemon Online the other popular online pokemon game you'd realize it's miles away from what PokeGlobal is projecting. Pokemon Online has glaring issues not aethestic issues like PokeGlobal. Want examples? Your pokemon are randomly replaced by wild pokemon upon logging in extremely often, evolution is bugged and replacing old moves is bugged.

Pokemon World Online has lots of users but it's developer base is pathetically weak, PokeGlobal is without a doubt miles ahead of them. It's a pointless argument though when you aren't going to read the documentation out there and weigh the two sides realistically.

Well it's a Java application so it's not because you're running a mac there is something wrong with your Java installation. I'd say uninstall and reinstall fresh. If you could be more specific on how it's buggy I might be able to suggest a solution.

I wanna see a 3-D Pokemon MMO <,< run around and do battles in almost real time. Ingame clock; literally take time to get to places; the whole works :3

I downloaded it. Granted only has limited areas, I like the way it is set up and way battle system works... I hope they put alot more into it

It's probably because I'm not running leopard and thus can't get the latest java upgrade
