True enough, but I'd still like to see a source on DRG soloing them with rage. Massacre elegy overwrites itself and 100% slow is no joke..

They specifically said /blu, and subbed head butt was nerfed to shit. Not calling anyone a liar, just would like to see source considering my (admittedly a bit gimp) drg friend barely did enough damage to kill it before rage with brd songs and haste(and massacre erased). They were on THF sub for placebo TH(their dumb idea not mine..) but that should be a similar amount of damage output. I don't think a couple pieces of homam instead of dusk compensate for haste spell and march/min >__>

There are 2 people there, the guy posting the video took over when it was already down to 80%. Aside from that, they got an early bene and sim takes much much longer to kill than roc.

uh roc takes longer cause of bene, unless MS somehow makes it take longer?

Have you fought them? Sim has fucking ridiculous evasion and more hp, full merits in katana, hauby+1, snipers+1 has my acc at like 60%.. it's capped on roc wearing daggers on nin =|
I used to dualbox simurgh by meleeing it until it raged, turning and lullabying it on my brd, zoning on nin(since it'll be facing nin, hate resets), zone back on nin.. zone out on brd, all hate reset and rage timer reset, claim on nin before it goes yellow. This process is kind of ridiculous, and irrelevant, but it took me roughly 30 minutes on average to kill simurgh and I typically had to reset rage twice. I tried roc, and killed it in 14 min with the same gear and same 2 characters ->

Dragoon has the Dex : Acc bonus + Acc Bonus II, A+ polearm and plenty of acc gear[ie ace's helm, homam, AF+1 legs] if u at 60%, dragoon should be able cap acc with acc gear, and pierce bonus + drakes bane + angon on 50% of the time, should allow damage to be fast enough to kill it before rage on drg/whm.

Drg/blu can solo Simurgh and Roc too.

Call me skeptical but how would this be done? Simurgh has perfect accuracy and can hit hard. On my THF in eva setup he would only miss me ever so rarely.

as a drg solo alot of nm's suck asshole. since you have to be at 50% for healing breath one move can and will often kill you, or knock you down so next hit kills you.

i haven't had any luck with Wyrm helm or the other one so that has been holding me back. but grab up some wyvern hp+ gear and macro that in before you hit your healing breaths helps out a bunch.


but best advice i can give. Get another drg for a duo or two more for a trio. a tone safer and easier that way.

I can second this, I did Simurgh w/a another DRG/BLU (friend) and a ninja who showed up during the fight, since i'd pulled it and started fighting it already (with the other drg). Simurgh w/Cocoon only hit me for 90-110, which isn't that bad if you have 2 DRGs. I could see a pretty well equipped DRG doing well solo, it would be interesting. We both had Angon on near 100% of the fight (sans the time I overlapped it >_>; ) so it was a pretty squishy birdy. On topic though, pretty much everything Xanthe mentioned is worth doing. The DRG macros are pretty much the toughest thing to do as a DRG/Mage, once you get yours set up and your comfortable with soloing, it's not bad. Especially with Ethereal Earring you'll love DRG/mage.

A little late, but jumping in after he died at 80% didn't really make a difference. After that Roc, Awwwsnap solo'd him about 10 times, probably more. That attempt, his HB macro was screwed up. Simurgh is a lot tougher than Roc, I usually take down Roc within 10-15 mins, depending on if it Benes early or late.

The one time I did try Simurgh, it raged at about 20%. I lived for about a min before I realized I was now getting hit for 150-200. Haven't tried again, since it's tough to claim alone. I'm sure it's possible with the right setup. Duoing on the other hand, is pretty easy.

Do you see any latency problems with Wyvern HP using that macro?
I swap in all my Wyvern HP gear before I cast, and still have it not register ~50% of the time with /RDM or /BLU.
Though, it usually registers with /WHM or /SCH due to slightly slower casting times from what I've seen.

Also, while pricey, I'd strongly recommend using Pescatora while soloing anything difficult. (i.e. Wivre, stronger NMs, etc.)

I to, had to readjust my macros for /RDM because of the fast casting time on Barspells. Just macro in the Wyvern HP a bit earlier and it should be fine.

You'll probably need /whm to erase elegy, and Ethereal so you don't run out of MP. Never used Saurian, but if it's close to wyrm it might be OK.
