I would agree with the post about idling in Suppo. In a perfect world, Loquacious should be macro for spells only. In theory, Suppo will help build TP faster for Chivalry etc, as well as put extra hate on you (albeit minor) from damage. It is believed AGI also affects Shield and Parry procs.
I wouldn't replace Ethereal with Suppo, but oddly enough, it does have some value, even if it is marginal. And that's what you're going to find out of most earring slots; a marginal improvement to *something* at best.
Thanks for the advice everybody, I am now working on getting stuff and I got turban Dusk Gloves and Swift belt.
hay kirtus, if you wanna duo campaign... let me know :D
Sure just ask me in-game, I can easily solo those things in campaign. :D
Just a quick point, if you're main tanking or going /nin at HNMs, tanking Dynamis mobs, etc, you don't want to do armor-slot gearswaps for anything, as your healers will become annoyed and eventually stop trying to cure you.
This has been gone over 50 billion times already, and this isn't the thread for it. Swapping is fine if you have competent support that you can trust to take 5 seconds out of their day and make a new macro or two. Swapping incessantly is probably overdoing it, but get the gear that you need on into the abilities and spells that you need, because no single set is ideal for everything.
Edit: For the OP, since it seems like you have access to Dynamis pieces: Valor Breeches are a decent holdover until Homam legs for /NIN, a decent HP boost, decent Enmity boost, and a spell interruption boost. I still sometimes like W.Legs for the MP but if you can get Valor with relative ease they work well.
On the contrary, I believe this is an appropriate place to put in a gearswap warning, as "slinging in gear for Flash/Utsu" will cause problems when your healers attempt to quickheal you in the aforementioned places. Not everyone will want to make single tank-specific macros in places such as Dynamis.
I would typically assume that any serious healers can make room for name specific macros for the main LS tanks, which the OP stated they are one of, especially in an event where the lag and amount of people make it even harder to target people regardless of swaps, aside from the fact that /NIN in Dynamis is not the best decision to begin with.
As Callisto said, incessant gearswaps will be overdoing it. However, single action gearswaps, such as macroing in a piece or two for Sentinel, Rampart, etc, won't be a problem as long as it's occasional and not spammed because you're not paying attention to recast timers. Like I said, it's a quick warning and not a "don't do this or else" situation.
Maybe the "for anything" phrase was incorrect then, as re-reading my original post made it sound like a "don't do this or else" thing.
//load blinkmenot.
a PLD can't tank w/ just a setup, he needs to switch gear like 10 secs or so: WHMs should just install that plugin or make a macro for each tank (I was used to be 2 PLDs and 2 WHMs) like /ma "cure v" blabla and it was fine.
If I had a healer ever suggest for half a second that they were going to "give up on healing me" I'd break their pearl.
Get better healers if they can't handle you blinking. WHM was my first 75, I had tanks who blinked like christmas lights, and I never had issues. Primadonnas gtfo
I want to know what the hell people are thinking if they're at low HP and blinking gear around enough to die.
Protip: PLD has Cure IV
I blink for every action but if I'm getting pummeled I default to an "oh shit" setup and don't move from it until I'm at a safe level of HP. (And my mages don't suck at curing)
Unless you suck or are solo face tanking something, you don't need all eyes on you. In these situations, blinking with every action is acceptable. Not too mention, if your WHM or RDM is smart they will eventually just type out /ma "Haste" Name instead of trying to target over and over and use a macro.
Bitching about constant gear changes is laughable. It's a HUGE efficiency boost that requires only a little bit of extra work by the healers.

Study Enmity Tables. Level RDM. Never look back.
(yes, I have both jobs)
Belkin has a great write up for tanking for all situations. It's a great read and most will find it very useful.
Yeah it really is awesome, I enjoyed reading a lot of the blog.
