Computer Freezing only during ffxi

issue started about 4 months ago, tried alot of things to figure out what the issue is, but it simply freezes the entire computer, no BsoD, nothing, i'm running a dell XPS 710, quad core, 8800GTX card, 2 gigs of ram.

I've had the computer just over a year, an for a year FFXI worked perfectly fine, when the issue started after 2 weeks of it freezing every 2-3hrs, i did a PC restore which is a dell thing, it restores your computer to its factory settings without having to install windows drivers etc, that sorted the issue until i installed Daemon tools Pro, again the issue started up, this time i did a full reformat, re-installed windows, my computers drivers the lot, issue had been fixed going on 5 weeks.

2 days ago i installed daemon tools lite an company of Heroes (maintence day and i was bored) Tuesday night it froze again, does anyone have any idea why daemon tools would be causing this? or what the hell is going on, i tried a system restore 4 times this morning, they all failed.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Don't use Daemon Tools anymore. Some static aspect of your computer configuration doesn't like it, and is causing the same issue to repeat over and over again.

Try Alcohol 120%.

Alcohol, PowerISO, MagicISO... there are a bunch of iso mounting programs out there, try a different one and see if the problem goes away.

You may need to reformat if daemon didn't uninstall correctly, it can leave behind erroneous SCSI drives that never existed physically and are a bitch to remove. Daemon is usually awesome, but because of what it does and how it does it, it can wreck windows pretty easily.
