    Adobe Creative Suite 4

Has anyone else seen the adverts for CS4? Some of the Flash CS4 changes (bones, 3-D transformations, spray can tool) look really hot. A cursary glance at Photoshop CS4 show some pretty nice features as well.

Think that I will have to wait to buy it next year though. (Since I just upgraded to CS3 this year.)

I just upgraded to CS3 as well, so I'll be waiting.. unless they do something like Microsoft did with Office and make it insanely cheap for students.

An LS mate works for Adobe, and has been testing all of CS4 for awhile now, she says it's head over heels better than CS3. Didnt really pay much attention to anything else since the only thing I really use is PS.

You actually plan to BUY it >.>?

Have Adobe talked much about improved security?

Hot shit, bones will improve the workflow by a large margin if it's anything remotely similar to the bone setup of 3dsmax.

I'll have to play around with Photoshop CS4 to see if it's worth upgrading or not, it's pretty solid as it is, it'd need some amazing new features for me to want it, but I'm sure adobe also realise this.

One thing many tablet users have wanted is a way to live rotate the canvas without resampling the image each time they do so, exactly how Painter has been able to do. A bunch of us were dissapointed when CS3 was released without this support, this feature alone will make me go to CS4. Trying to draw with a tablet with no room for rotation feels like trying to draw with a penis.

I'm more interested now a day in after effects, so I'm excited to see what AE CS4 will be like.

As I use it professionally, I have to have a legal copy.

Any ideas if upgrades work for packages, or is it all on a per-program basis?

Just asking as I'm able to get Creative 3 Design Suite Premium dirt cheap (non-Academic version afaik) from my college, but I'm not bothering if I have to pay out the ass to bump that up all up to CS4.

one feature of photoshop cs4 I read is the ability to paint 3d models... I guess similar to the basic idea of what you can do with Zbrush, but I'm imagining much more control and options.

    From Adobe's website:

Working with images is now easier

Navigate around images more naturally with fluid canvas rotation and enhanced pan and zoom tools.

Photoshop CS4 has a very small handful of nice new features, but only if you generally work with very high res images and often work with RAW formats. If you use it to fuck around and/or work in screen-res, not much is going to be worth it for. (pixel grid finally though, jesus)
