If the DD's care more about their e-peen shots than their own exp/hour (as some seem to), I guess that would be the best of both worlds, since the backline would be getting the exp bonus plus the benefit of faster kills. A little trickier to pull off, though, since it would be a 4-roll cycle and you'd have to pull the BRD back near the RDM and have them stand there through all your double-ups, which could disrupt their pulling.

Having been the RDM in a meripo setup I would always enjoy the COR doing the two melee buffs, then coming over to me and doing Evokers + Corsair =^.^=

Though the exp gain is nice, depending on setup the Scholar roll is a welcome addition.

I mostly only merit with LS members, but I typically give one or maybe 2 full cycles of something like Chaos + Fighter's for everyone to get their epeen shots out of the way, then it's serious time. Even I like posting my 2k+ WS every now and then :3

I'm a COR who only takes dual BRD parties, preferably with an outside healer... does that make me super elitist?

Anyway, I usually don't use COR roll, even though it's better, because I only merit with friends, and we're usually more concerned with epeen parses than a little more EXP/hr. It's definitely the best roll to use if you're running out of mobs to chain.

COR roll is used most often when your party kills too fast for repops (often times at bird camp) and/or would generally benefit more in terms of exp/hr with COR roll in place of a DD roll. For slower parties, COR roll may not be as much of an option.

This is extremely accurate, by far the best one ever.

Ive just started leveling cor (32 now) and been taking advice from a cor i know who xp's with very pimp players, based on his exp/hour experience, if you are not killing so fast that you are waiting on repops, chaos and hunters is the best, but if you are killing so fast that you are grabbing stuff the second it pops then cors roll. Basically cor's roll is only better if your camp wont support you killing faster.

I thought it was a given that COR roll was standard for merit parties, so the situation the OP described is pretty crazy.

I realize that there are times 2x melee rolls are better, but whenever I'm in a top notch party I just give Chaos/Corsair's while the BRD gives Marchx2 and we're off to the races... even on Mamools that works fine, unless you are in a pickup/gimp party which I try to avoid.

This, only time I need to use two melee rolls is if the party is gimped in some manner. As said even on Mamools you should be riding the repop timers on the mobs. Parties I have been in even kill too fast like this for bird repops, you actually need to hold back.

Like always, shit is situational. If you party with only 2handers (as I do) you are better off doing SAM/DRK rolls.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with tossing up dual offensive rolls for the sake of E-peening with some friends, but I've yet to see a party that would, as far as productivity goes, benefit from them. Hell, this held true when Corsair's Roll was first introduced, let alone the fact that, as its been mentioned, merits raise the advantages to an even higher level.

You need a better BRD if you're needing to /NIN and pull. Good merit party = /RNG or /WAR.

I used to love to pull. I got good pulling gear and I modeled my bard strictly for puling in merit parties.

Then I got over 600 merits most of them on bard and then went.



I've had enough. Haven't pulled since, gonna get my last 100 merits the easy way relaxing watching Youporn while some guy gets beat on while pulling. As a side note on birds having /nin is almost a pre-req cause reflect = balls
