If anyone was still wondering, someone mentioned in the crafting forum SE said in an interview that the latent on the Trainee gear set is active only if the skill is under 40.
Makes it pretty much useless... oh, well.

I've always heard that was under 60, that is, Active from 0-59 while not under the effect of any synthesis support
It's used so you can skill it up slightly easier, hence the "trainee" in the name. (adepts not being trainees after all)

Not when they use image bonus already, and most of the time, you're crafting near the guild

I have not been able to get these to activate via testing. I'm quite interested in knowing if these actually work as mentioned at Fanfest.
