Anyway, what about the Company Sword/Sirius Axe/Mensur Epee? The general rule is that +2DMG for every other party member up to 6(reverse for Mensur), and the DMG rating doesn't apply to weaponskills. Does this book say anything to the contrary?
What about Tungi? I still have people tell me it has a latent and others tell me it doesn't. Also thank you Elmer, some very interesting stuff to look at.
Would be easy to test one part of that y's scythe: just need a drk/smn to see if a dark spirit/fenrir's costs go down by 2 as it says. If it does then (assuming the rest is right) that might be a great scythe for use during light elemental based fights or when you generally want better drains/absorbs. Paired with a macro of those vampiric items it sounds deliciously nice for some things...
How about company sword? Oh, do they have any specific/extra info on all those kick attack boots (crafted ones and the cactuar NM dropped ones)? Maybe anything very odd/unexpected in there or is it like a huge list of just about everything, making it hard to notice odd things?

Most texts I pick up in Japanese book stores are produced by third parties just as most game guides would be in the US. Companies like Prima, Bradygames, etc...
While the information is interesting, most texts for "net-games" in Japan are titled a crazy stupid name followed by a series of 6 numbers.
Example: Maniac's Monster Hunting Bible 071106
(The number refers to the most recent date of patch 2007, November, the 6th. ) This text, by the way, contains maps of all zones and spawn locations, divided into groups, of all monsters in the zones. It's relatively useful.... until SE decides to change pop locations of various mobs. It's also got availability of any mob at a given level, tp moves used by mobs, and informational sections regarding issues such as DA proc rate, Triple Attack proc rate, Mac Vs Skill, MAB vs Int, and maximum equipment mods sorted by stat (all str head equip from highest to lowest str+ and so on).
Unfortunatly the regularity, in terms of publishing, of these texts is completely unreliable. The information, however, is usually pretty accurate circa X patch.
I'll try to find this text and compare it to others I have, but for anyone that's in Japan atm and wants to pick up these texts, be prepared to shop around. Also remember that the guides are not published regularly. You might have to check famitsu's ffxi section (they used to have one about 2 years ago in every issue with ah price graphs on high ticket items.)

would str+12 being active on ws make z's trident viable or would the base damage just be too low to put it in a class with thas/mez? higher delay would make a lower hit build more viable i would think, but i've never really done the math or research on it.
