Uh, it looks like exactly what it is. We were having fun running up the side of the walls (Ninja Gaiden style), going around the corner. He gave us a "check this out" and did that.

If it helps you understand his mindset better, he was a bit of a coke head about a year later, and his blood stream was probably full of marijuana when he did that.
